In
John 17 verse 22 we find this statement; “The
glory which You gave Me I have given them; that they may be one, even
as
We are One: (Ephesians
2:11-22, 4:1-8 (4-6))
To
this we can turn again in John's synoptic gospel to John
14:20
“At
that day you shall know that I
am
in
My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.”
And just when will this become real to us, after we have passed
through God's school of Redemption. Wherein we learn of our greater
need of more of Christ at any cost. Look at Romans 15 beginning at
verse 14 through the end of verse 21 where we have this; “I myself
also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that you also are full of
goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one
another. Nevertheless,
I have written the more boldly to you in some sort, as putting you in
mind, because of the Grace that is given to me of God, that I should
be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the
Gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be
acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. I have therefore
whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which
pertain to God. For I will not dare to speak of any of those things
which Christ has not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by
word and deed, through mighty signs and wonders, by (through) the power of the
Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about to Illyricum,
I have fully preached the Gospel of Christ (the
same Gospel of the kingdom of heaven and of God which John the
Baptist and then Jesus Himself proclaimed as the end or completion of
all things being purely of the Jewish age. Again this was a mystery
(secret thing) hid by God.).
Yes, so have I strived to preach this gospel, not where Christ was
named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation: But as it
is written, To whom He was not spoken of, they shall see: and they
that have not heard shall understand.”
This is a quote from Isaiah 52:15 and 65:1.
Looking
to the One being of John 17:22 in Ephesians 2 beginning at verse 11
through to the end of verse 22 and then turn to chapter 4 beginning
at verse 1 through the end of verse 16 we find this said; “Wherefore
remember, that you being
in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by
those that are called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
That
at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the
commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise
(though the first promise was
not given in a covenant from never the less it was a promise spoken
to all of mankind as the heirs of Adam it is found in
Gen. 3:15, where the following action took place), having no hope, and without God in the world: But now In
Christ Jesus you who sometimes were far off are made near by the
blood of Christ (the price of our being purchased back, Redeemed). For He is our Peace, Who has made both one, and has
broken down the middle wall of partition between
us (the veil of the Hebrew
temple, that separated even Israel from the
Isra-El of God); having
abolished in His flesh the enmity, the law of commandments contained
in ordinances; for to make In Himself of twain (the Law of Moses and the rule or law of God in His kingdom wherein we become, in God's Salvation) one new man, so
making peace; That He might reconcile both to God in one Body by the
cross, having slain the enmity (the
separation from hostility)
thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off (requiring Redemption), and
to them that were near (those who have entered Salvation). For through Him we both have access by One
Spirit to the Father. Now therefore you are no more strangers and
foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household
(the Isra-El) of God; And are built upon the foundation of the
apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner
stone;
(which cornerstone the Hebrew
Priest's stumbled over and it crushed them and continues to do so, to this
very day)
In Whom all the building fitly framed together grows to an Holy
Temple In the Lord: In Whom you also are built together for an
habitation of God through the Spirit.”
Ephesians
4:1-16
“I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that you walk
worthy of the vocation (your
calling and field of work through the
LORD which
has many forms)
wherewith you are called, with
all lowliness and meekness, with long suffering, forbearing one
another in love; Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the
bond of peace. There
is One
body, and One Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your
calling; One Lord, One faith, One baptism, One God and Father of all,
Who is
above all, and through all, and In you all. But to every one of us is
given Grace according to the measure of the gift (this
is without limit as it can be refilled many times over)
of Christ. Wherefore He said, When He ascended up on high, after He
led captivity captive, and returned to gave gifts (In
the person of Himself as the Spirit of Holiness and Truth)
to men. (Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended
first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the
same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fill
all things.) (look at Colossians 1:13-20) And He gave some, apostles;
and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and
teachers; For the work of perfecting the saints, for the work of the
ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ: Till we all come in
the unity of the faith, and of the Knowledge of the Son of God, to a
perfect (mature)
man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we
henceforth
be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every
wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and
cunning
craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the
Truth in Love, may grow up into Him in all things, Who is the Head,
Christ: From Whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted
by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual
working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the Body to
the edifying of Itself in love.”
