We are now entering an area in which John tells all not to remain or even return to the word's darkness of unbelief. As they are in the final days of the old age and entering the new Now age of prophecy. But as we are learning that is where the worlds churches made up of billions of people have been hoodwinked to stay. All in the name of Christ but remain unbelief, because of its message of delay and futurism's, as a thing done under cover of darkness as in the night. Because it has not rightly divided the word of GOD'S revelation as spoken of by the Prophetic words of the ancient ages messengers, the prophets of the Hebrew people up to and including their Messiah, as he was the culmination of that ages economy. Their message spoken in simple but a higher language as a stumbling block of light, that over comes darkness's sin, unbelief that keeps manity in distortion, under a cloud of delusion. Paul spoke of this, and John speaks of this before he moves us on to the anti-Christ.
1John 2:15-17 " Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride[2] of life[1], is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." (KJV)

There is a clear distinction between the [1]biological, physical life that is exploited by the "I am not-mentality" of the worlds religious systems, and the authentic zoe-life of our design that is sourced in the Father of spirits. The one engages the individual with a constant yearning and craving for fleshly gratifications, with eyes desperately scanning for recognition; this inevitably results in [2]cheap bragging and boastful conversations, which is so utterly boring while the Father's life satisfies completely. (The word, [1, G979] bios, refers to biological, or physical life; while (G2222 from G2198 zaō, is a verb meaning live, to be quickened) zoe, refers more to spiritual life. The word, [2, G212 from G213 alazōn, boaster] alazoneia, means empty, braggart talk, translated pride.) The world systems with all its glorious dreams comes and goes; but whoever engages with the poetry of GOD'S desires abides unchanged into the conclusion of the ages, as a Now person." The saga of "The Secret of GOD", as revealed by 1John 2:12 with a renewed mind and our victory as foretold.
We are still in John's discourse of Christ as our life and richness of life, light and agape of GOD'S indwelling us, just as he did the humanity of Jesus. The whole purpose and reason for Emmanuel's mission of restoration as promised in Genesis 3:15 of 14-15, where the word, [1, Hebrew H6119 ‛âqêb ‛iqqebâh], means to restrain, the Latin is relagar, English religion, to bind is found, there translated, heel] where we find this first in the KJV and then in the ESV: Genesis 3:14-15 "And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel[1]." The saga of "The Secret of GOD", as revealed by 1John 2:7 with a renewed mind and our victory as foretold.
Continuing on from where I left off with John's description of our
redeemed and restored relationship of right standing before GOD, as a
face-to-Face encounter. Where many translations use the word that
Jesus used to describe the Holy Spirit as our advocate (the Strong's
numbering shows this as G3875) or justifier before GOD. We just discovered that due in part to our redeemed nature of design, our origin, we are accepted in the beloved before GOD our Father as the fulfilled prophetic word of the prodigal son shows, was in Jesus' illustration that goes by that title and name in Luke 15:11-32. Now John moves us to what some study Bibles label as a new commandment, but is it? Or has he just repeated Jesus' own words, to agape each other. Not as the world uses love in a flippant manor but as GOD is Agape we are also.
1John 2:7-11 "Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his (hearts, spirits) eyes." (KJV)

You may ask, "How can this which is old, also be new?" Here is the secret of its newness: whatever is true of Jesus is equally true of us! The days of the [3]dominance of darkness as a reference to human life, are over! The true light surely shines with [4]bold certainty and illuminates our life, as it is unveiled in Christ in us! (The word, [1, G2537] kainos means, fresh, recent, unused, unworn, of a new kind, unprecedented, novel, uncommon (no longer of mere common use, meaning (G3501 neos neōteros) heart-flesh has changed it is identity, to that of an awakened spirit). The freshness of this encounter is celebrated in a fellowship of exactly the same oneness enjoyed (in Genesis 1:26-27, 2:1-3, 6-7, 18, 21-25.) between the Father and his son, or Father and Son! Again the word, [2, G1785] entole is used in verse 7, precept or teaching. the word, [3, G3855 from G3844 and G71] parago, from (G3844) para, close proximity and (G71) agoo, to lead; thus darkness will no longer lead us (you) into its sway. The word, [4, G2235 from G2228 (or possibly G2229) and G1211 ] ede, means even now:- already, by this time; from (G2228 or G2229) e [pronounced ay] an adverb of confirmation; assured: - surely; and (G1211) de [pronounced day] which is a particle of emphasis or explicitness; NOW, then, etc,,,: - also, and, doubtless, Now, therefore.) To feel justified in our judgment to [1]dislike a fellow human, is to continue in darkness, even if you might claim to be in the light and life of agape! This place of illumination is not cheap talk! It immediately translates into seeing your brother differently! (Look at 1John 1:6, also 2Corinthians 5:16. [1]It is common among the Hebrews to use the terms "love" and "hatred" in this comparative sense, where the former implied strong positive attachment, and the latter, not positive hatred, but merely a less love, or the withholding of the expression of affection [compare Genesis 29:30-31; Luke 14:26]) Form this conscious union with that which light reveals, there follows a deep agape for the very brother who might previously have irritated you! If anyone thinks less of his brother that what agape reveals, it is proof of a blindfold mode, where reference is blurred by a mind trapped in a maze of dark thoughts, which leads nowhere." Wow! is all that I have to say about what is revealed here! NOW is the word for our lives under GOD'S headship as he was over Jesus' as he proclaimed Christ in himself and within us as the redeemed. This was the message from the beginning. We are NOW in Salvation's control, as eternity is NOW!

The word, [2, G1785 from G1781 entellomai, meaning to enjoin from G1722 and the base of G5056 ] entole, is often translated commandment or precept; has two components in the construction of this word, (G1722) en, meaning in and (G5056) telos, from tello, to set out for a definite point or goal; properly the point aimed at as a limit, that is, by implication, the conclusion of an act or state, the result; the ultimate or prophetic purpose a closing of a era.) To merely claim that you know him, based on your own academic or even sentimental interpretation of him, and not upon the conclusion of his prophetic purpose unveiled in your heart of hearts that treasures his hidden truth, is to continue to live a life of pretense! (As Paul also stated in 2Corinthians 5:16, "we once knew Christ from a human point of view but we no longer know him like that!" Or in that fashion! Keeping the context of John's writing in mind, 1John 1:5-8, My conversation with you flows from the same source which illuminates our fellowship of union with Father and the Son. This, then, is the essence of our message: GOD is radiance of light and life and in him there exists not even a trace of obscurity of shadow or darkness of that shadow at all. This is real deal! To live a life of pretense is a such a waste! The truth has no competition. Truth inspires the poetry of sincere fellowship in total contrast to a fake, false veneer of performance-based friendship! Light is not threatened by darkness! Why say something with darkness as your reference? We are invited to explore the dimensions of the same light that fully engulfs GOD; when we see this light in his light, fellowship ignites us! In his light we have understanding of how the blood of Jesus Christ in the total removal of every stain of sin! The full success of our joint union of the cross celebrates our total and complete redemption, our restored redeemed innocence is realized! To claim innocence by our own efforts under the Law of personal performance is to deceive ourselves and makes the cross a shame that deliberately ignores the truth.) Whoever treasures [1]the logic of GOD'S authentic thought, has his agape-love fully realized in its most complete context. This is what our association and union in Christ is all about! (GOD'S word, or logic, his authentic thought, [1, G3056] logos; of John 1:1. Look also at John 14:20, "In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you!" also at 1John 5:20, "We know that the Son of GOD has come, and he has given us his understanding to know him who is true, and we are in him who is true!") It is in this place of consciousness of our [1]abiding in the awareness of our oneness that our conversation springs from to unveil the same fellowship with Father that Jesus enjoys (his joy of promise realized now, Matthew 13:44, John 15:11, 17:13), and it results in our daily walk that mirrors his; one of living our life in the full [2]benefit of it! (The word, [1, G3306] meno, suggests an uninterrupted abiding, a seamless oneness! The word, [2, G3784 from the base of G3786] opheilo, is often translated, ought to, is from the stem (G3786) ophelos, which means to advantage, to profit, to gain advantage, to heap up, to accumulate, to benefit.) (The word, [1, G5083] tereo, means to attend to carefully, to take care of, to treasure something with utmost attention. The word, [2, G1785 from G1781 entellomai, meaning to enjoin from G1722 and the base of G5056 ] entole, is often translated commandment or precept; has two components in the construction of this word, (G1722) en, meaning in and (G5056) telos, from tello, to set out for a definite point or goal; properly the point aimed at as a limit, that is, by implication, the conclusion of an act or state, the result; the ultimate or prophetic purpose a closing of a era.) To merely claim that you know him, based on your own academic or even sentimental interpretation of him, and not upon the conclusion of his prophetic purpose unveiled in your heart of hearts that treasures his hidden truth, is to continue to live a life of pretense! (As Paul also stated in 2Corinthians 5:16, "we once knew Christ from a human point of view but we no longer know him like that!" Or in that fashion! Keeping the context of John's writing in mind, 1John 1:5-8, My conversation with you flows from the same source which illuminates our fellowship of union with Father and the Son. This, then, is the essence of our message: GOD is radiance of light and life and in him there exists not even a trace of obscurity of shadow or darkness of that shadow at all. This is real deal! To live a life of pretense is a such a waste! The truth has no competition. Truth inspires the poetry of sincere fellowship in total contrast to a fake, false veneer of performance-based friendship! Light is not threatened by darkness! Why say something with darkness as your reference? We are invited to explore the dimensions of the same light that fully engulfs GOD; when we see this light in his light, fellowship ignites us! In his light we have understanding of how the blood of Jesus Christ in the total removal of every stain of sin! The full success of our joint union of the cross celebrates our total and complete redemption, our restored redeemed innocence is realized! To claim innocence by our own efforts under the Law of personal performance is to deceive ourselves and makes the cross a shame that deliberately ignores the truth.) Whoever treasures [1]the logic of GOD'S authentic thought, has his agape-love fully realized in its most complete context. This is what our association and union in Christ is all about! (GOD'S word, or logic, his authentic thought, [1, G3056] logos; of John 1:1. Look also at John 14:20, "In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you!" also at 1John 5:20, "We know that the Son of GOD has come, and he has given us his understanding to know him who is true, and we are in him who is true!") It is in this place of consciousness of our [1]abiding in the awareness of our oneness that our conversation springs from to unveil the same fellowship with Father that Jesus enjoys (his joy of promise realized now, Matthew 13:44, John 15:11, 17:13), and it results in our daily walk that mirrors his; one of living our life in the full [2]benefit of it! (The word, [1, G3306] meno, suggests an uninterrupted abiding, a seamless oneness! The word, [2, G3784 from the base of G3786] opheilo, is often translated, ought to, is from the stem (G3786) ophelos, which means to advantage, to profit, to gain advantage, to heap up, to accumulate, to benefit.) The saga of "The Secret of GOD", as revealed by 1John 2:1 with a renewed mind and our victory as foretold.
John now introduces us to the Lord Jesus Christ in his current capacity as seen and proclaimed by man's religions, that of Advocate. The Advocate was first introduced by Job in 16:19 where we fine this using the ESV: Job 16:19 of 18-22 "O earth, cover not my blood, and let my cry find no resting place. Even now, behold, my witness (Adovcate, Strong's dictionary H5707 translated witness from H5749 restored, reduplicated, Jesus used Comforter, Councilor, Mediator, John parakletos.) is in heaven, and he who testifies for me is on high. My friends scorn me; my eye pours out tears to God, that he would argue the case of a man with God, as a son of man does with his neighbor. For when a few years have come I shall go the way from which I shall not return." Now lets hear what John has to say about our Advocate. This will cover the following verses as broken down in this fashion: 1-2; 3-6; 7-11; and 12-14, before John breaks in with our not loving the world.
1John 2:1-2 "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." (KJV)

If anyone does believe a [1]distorted image to be their reality, we have Jesus Christ who [2]defines our likeness [3]face to face with our Father! He is our [4]parakletos, the one who endorses our true identity, being both the source and the reflection of the Father's image in us! (Get the picture?) (The root of all sin is to believe a lie about yourself. The word sin, is the word, [1, G266 from G264 hamartanō, sin, from G1 and the base of G3313] hamartia, from (G1) a or ha, means negative or without form and (G3313) meros, a portion or form, thus to be without your allotted portion or without form, pointing to a disorientated, disorientation, distorted image, bankrupt identity; the word (G3313) meros, is the stem of morpe, as in 2Corinthians 3:18, the word (G3339)metamorphe, with form, which is the opposite of (G266) hamartia - without form. Sin is to live out of context with the blueprint of one's design; to behave out of tune with GOD'S original harmony. [look at John 1:1] The word, (G5875) [4, G3875] parakletos, comes from para, a preposition indicating close proximity, a thing proceeding from a sphere of influence, with a suggestion of strong union of place of residence, to have sprung from its author and giver, originating from, denoting the point from which an action originated, intimate connection; and kaleo, meaning to properly identify by name, to surname. Jesus introduced the Holy Spirit in the same capacity: (G3875) parakletos, meaning close companion, kinsman [John 14:16 Jesus describes the Holy Spirit using this word]. Sadly this word has been translated as 'advocate' as if Jesus needs to persuade Father to like us and possibly forgive us! When Father knows us better than we know or understand ourselves. GOD requires no advocate to stand in for us! He knows us as Christ-ones!) Jesus is our [1]at-one-ment, he has conciliated (exonerated) us to himself and has taken our sins and distortions out of the equation totally and forever. What he has accomplished is not to be seen as something that belongs to us exclusively; the same at-one-ment includes the entire [2]cosmos! (The word, [1, G2434] hilasmos, means to conciliate, to bring about atonement, which is from hileos, gracious, merciful. Also reminds us of the word hilaros, meaning cheerful, joyous, hilarious! the word, [2, G2889 from the base of G2865 kolumbaō, to tend for, to carry off] kosmos in the NT refers to the entire human family, not outer space.) The saga of "The Secret of GOD", as revealed in 1John 1:5; with a renewed mind and our victory as foretold.
John, now turns our attention towards the Light this is part of the makeup of GOD which we by his design share in his image and likeness of our own original makeup. I don't believe that i have ever touched on this, but this area is loaded with scripture cross references form the NT, as it is the Now living reality of our eternal life begun as children of Light and eternal Life. These two qualities cannot be separated; They have always been in man's humanity makeup.
1John 1:5-10 "This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." (KJV)

We are already cleansed from every distortion believed about ourselves! Likeness and image are redeemed! ( The word traditionally translated "confession" is the word [1, G3670 a compound of the base of G3674 and G3056 ] homologeo, is from (G3674) homo, meaning the same, and (G3056) logeo, to speak. In the context of verse 7, this suggests that we say what GOD says about us! And no more! This is agreement.) If we judge ourselves innocent by the Levitical Law of works, then we make Jesus Christ, and what his word and blood communicate within us, irrelevant. (Look at John 1:3-5, "The Logos is the source; everything commences in him. He remains the exclusive parent reference of our genesis. There is nothing original - except the Word! His life is the light that defines our being. (In his life, man discovers the light life.) The darkness was pierced and could not comprehend or diminish this light. (Darkness represents humanity's ignorance of our redeemed identity and innocence [Isaiah 9:2-4, 60:1-3; Ephesians 3:18, Colossians 1:13-15])." Look also at Isaiah 9:2, "The people who walk in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shined." Matthew 4:16, "The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and for those who sat in the reign and shadow of death, light has dawned." A new day for all humanity has come. This study is short so lets see what is within what is covered in the Mirror Study Bible by way of comparing scripture text with the KJV, ESV and the Mirror. This area carries a subheading of "The Word of Life or the Incarnate Word," in my other study Bibles.
1John 1:1-4 "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us); That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full." (KJV)

The initial reports concerning him that have reached our ears (un-perverted, twisted), and which we indeed bear witness to with our own eyes-to the point that we became irresistibly attracted-now captivates our gaze. In him we witness [2]tangible life in its most articulate form. (The Logos-the [1]Word. To touch, [2, G5584 from the base of G5567] psallo, to touch the string of a musical instrument, thus resonance.) The same life that [1]was [2]face to face with the Father from the beginning, has now dawned within us! The infinite life of the Father became visible before our eyes in a human person! (In the beginning "was" the Word; [1, G1510 ] eimi, timeless existence, "I am." The preposition [2, G ] pros says so much more than 'with,' it suggests towards; face to face. Look at John 1:-2, "Suddenly the invisible eternal Word takes on visible form! The Incarnation! In him, and now confirmed in us! The most accurate tangible display of GOD'S eternal thought finds expression in human life! The Word became a human being; we are his address; he resides within us! (Always has!) He captures our gaze! The glory we see there is not a religious replica; he is the authentic begotten Son. The glory (that the first Adam lost) returns in fullness! Only grace can communicate truth in such complete context!" Look also at John 1:18, "Until this moment GOD remained invisible; Now the authentic begotten Son, the blueprint of humanity's design who represents the innermost being of GOD, the Son who is in the bossom of both the Father and his children, brings him into full view! He is the official authority qualified to announce GOD! He is our guide who accurately declares and interprets the invisible GOD within us." ) We include you in this conversation; you are the immediate audience of the logic of GOD! This is the Word that always was; we see him incarnate and witness his language as (our own) defining our lives. In the incarnation Jesus included all humanity in the eternal friendship of the Father and the Son! This eternal life now finds expression in an unreserved union. (We do not invent fellowship; we are invited into the fellowship with the Father and the Son, as children of his extreme love!) What we enjoy equally belongs to all! I am writing this for your reference, so that joy may be yours in its most complete measure. (In all these years since the ascension of Jesus, John, now ninety years young, continues to enjoy unhindered friendship with GOD and desires to extend this same fellowship to everyone through this writing.) Now we shall the LORD willing progress into more of 1John and his insight by way of divine inspiration like that of Paul and Peter. Which is the bases of the church, body and family of GOD'S indwelling hosts.

In the incarnation Jesus included all humanity in the eternal friendship of the Father and the Son! This eternal life now finds expression in an unreserved union. (We do not invent fellowship; we are invited into the fellowship with the Father and the Son, as children of his extreme love!) What we enjoy equally belongs to all! I am writing this for your reference, so that joy may be yours in its most complete measure. (In all these years since the ascension of Jesus, John, now ninety years young, continues to enjoy unhindered friendship with GOD and desires to extend this same fellowship to everyone through this writing.)
