But
as usual I cannot leave it rest or stop here I must continue with the
complete thought 4:17-24, 25-5:2: “This I say therefore, and testify
in the Lord, that you henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in
the vanity of their mind, having
the understanding darkened, being alienated from the Life of God
through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of
their heart (this by in larger is
caused by mans own religion as it hinders the actions and operations
of God through Christ): Who being
past feeling have given themselves over to lasciviousness, to work
all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ
(in this fashion or manner);
If so be that you have heard Him, and have been taught by Him, as the
Truth is in Jesus (the question of
Mat. 11:29 and our response to it):
That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man,
which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in
the spirit of your mind; And that you put on the new man, which after
God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Therefore putting away lying, speak every
man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another. Be
angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither
give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but
rather let him labor, working with his
hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that
needs. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but
that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace
to the hearers. And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you
are sealed in the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath,
and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with
all malice: And be kind (walk in charity, goodness and truth) one to
another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for
Christ's sake has forgiven you. Be
therefore followers of God, as dear children; And
walk in love, as Christ also loves us, and has given Himself for us
an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.”
From here
we can move to Colossians 1:13 where we find this beginning at verse
9 through 20: “For
this cause we also, since the day we heard,
do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled
with the Knowledge of His Will in all Wisdom and Spiritual
Understanding; That
you might walk worthy of the Lord to all pleasing, being fruitful in
every good work, and increasing
in the Knowledge of God;
Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, to all
patience and long suffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks to the
Father, which has made us meet (fit)
to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in Light: Who has
delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us
into the kingdom of His dear Son: In Whom we have redemption through
His blood, the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible
God, the firstborn of every creature: For by (through) Him were all
things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible
and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or
powers: all things were created by (through)
Him, and for Him: He is before all things, and by (again
through)
Him all things consist. For He is the head of the Body, the Church:
Who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things
He have the preeminence. For it pleased Father
that In Him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through
the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things to Himself; by
Him, I
say,
whether things in earth, or things in heaven.”
Here
again I just cannot leave well enough alone I must complete the
thought; “And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your
mind by wicked works (vain imaginations), yet now has He reconciled
in
the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, unblameable
and unreproveable in His sight: If you continue in the faith grounded
and settled, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which
you have heard, which was preached to every creature which is under
heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; Who now rejoice in my
sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the
afflictions of Christ in my flesh for His Body's sake, which is the
Church: Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation
(stewardship) of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word
of God; the mystery which has been hid from ages and from
generations, but now is made manifested to (In) His saints: To whom
God would make known what the riches of the glory of this mystery
among the Gentiles; which is Christ
in you,
the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching
every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect In
Christ Jesus: Whereto I also labor, striving according to His
working, which works in me mightily.”
While
still with Paul our last of his testimonies is in 1Thesselonians 1
and again to keep with the flow I must begin at verse one where we
find this; “To the church of the Thessalonians which
is
in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you, and peace,
from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
