Names of the Spirit, continuing with

Before we pick up where we left off in our last post allow me to back up just a bit.

Rev 10:7
“But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.”

Deu 29:29
“The secret (mysteries, things concealed by God, ie....Christ) things belong unto the LORD our God: but those revealed to us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law (here is to teach, as in shooting of an arrow, to rain upon, point toward the truth, the path one is required to walk in life).”

Act 3:18-23, look at 21
“But those things, which God before had shown by the mouth of all His prophets, that Christ should suffer, He has so fulfilled. Repent therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached to you: (21) Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution (Luke 24:44-47; Acts 3:21) of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said to the fathers, 'A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; Him shall you hear in all things whatsoever He shall say to you.' And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.”

We'll mostly allow the scriptures to speak for themselves with little editing on our part. Now we'll turn to the spirit of error:

1Jn 4:6
“We are of God: he that knows God hears us; he that is not of God hears not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error (delusion, deceit, fraud, a wandering, a straying about, wrong opinion relative to morals or religion, which shows itself in action, a wrong mode of acting).” (Isaiah 29:10, 66; Ho 4:12)

Isa 29:9-11, 10
Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. (10) For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed.”

Hos 4:7 -13, 12
“As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame. They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity. And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings. For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD. Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart. (12) My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God. They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.”

Mic 2:8-12, 11
“Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: yourselves pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war. The women of my people have you cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have you taken away my glory for ever. Arise, and depart; for this is not rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction. (11) If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people. I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah (sheepfold, separated that shall be cut off as a husbandman cuts the vines of its clusters of grapes), as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.”

Rom 11:6-11, 8
“If by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. What then? Israel has not obtained that which he seeks for; but the election (those among the Hebrews who chose Christ and became Christ-ones) have obtained it, and the rest were blinded (8) (According as it is written, God has given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. And David said, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence (evil, as a crime, their not able to partake of the Lord's table) to them: Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway. I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come to the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.”

2Th 2:5-14, 9
“Remember you not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now you know what withholds that He might be revealed in His time. For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only He who now lets will let, until He be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming: (9) whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders (to-days false religion or churches of religion, crimes), And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but have pleasure in unrighteousness.
But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereto He called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1 Cor. 2:14
"But the natural man (the mere man who depends on his own wisdom and strength) does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

Matt. 11:25
"I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent (those seeking the philosophy and theology of men and signs, wonders and miracles) and have revealed them to babes."

Matt. 18:3
"Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted (in your thinking and heart too) and become as (dependent and trusting as) little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven."

2Th 2:11-12
“For this cause God shall send them strong delusion (objectively fraudulence, to deceive, an impostor or misleader: seducing), that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure (specifically to approbate; by implication to seem (truthfully or uncertainly) in unrighteousness.” (Isa. 66:4)

Now we need to hear what Isaiah said as quoted from the Lord's own mouth in chapter 29.
