Colossians Study Outline

Jesus Christ the Creator God the Visible Presense of the Invisible Godhead

1Corinthians 15:52b

"…for the trumpet (a Vibration will) shall sound (a quivering, vibration) and the dead shall be raised (a great falling away) incorruptible, and we shall be changed (to be transformed in the falling away)."
That’s a revelation of a secret. It’s never been revealed before. The Lord never talked like this. The Lord talked of resurrection, but He never talked of a group of people who would be awakened as from sleep or alive at the time being transfromed like He was. Though He alluded to it in John chapter 17. And so here we have a revelation of a mystery. I'm not going to share all of them, but if you’ll come on over with me to Ephesians chapter 3 where this whole period of Grace was unknown to the whole human race. Jesus never referred to it. Peter couldn’t have referred to it. But Paul is the one that God, by Grace, used to reveal these secrets to the whole human race. And what is it?

Allow me to go to 1Corinthians 2:7 beginning at verse 3 through 13 and then to the end of this chapter where we find this revealed:
I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power (the witness of the risen Lord's own Spirit within Paul, as He is also to reside within us): That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God (this is the same witness that we are to bear as fruit, and the power of transformation, a change in our demeanor, makeup). Howbeit I spoke wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But I speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world to our glory (we'll see this again in Colossians 2:2): Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God had prepared for them that love Him. God has revealed them to us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searchs all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God (Luke 8:17, Romans 16:25). Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with Spiritual.

For the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judges (discerns) all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.”

It is through this that we are empowered to discern (judge) all things be they spiritual or earthy, carnal and worldly. This is the point that I would like to make, all those who may following these postings would come to as well, they are spiritually discerned which means that they are to be judged by us. Are the things spoken correct or in error, this is what we are to discern and make a judgment on.

Ephesians 3:1-2
"For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles. If ye have heard of the dispensation (this present days administration. Just as Eliezer was the administrator of Abraham’s estate. And it was a viable thing, so also is this administration) of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward."
Listen that’s never been held before by the human race. “If you have heard of the dispensation of the Grace of God which is given me to you-ward” and here it comes.

Ephesians 3:3
How that by revelation (what’s the other word for revelation? A revealing, divine illumination, understanding, wisdom and knowledge) He made known unto me the mystery (secret)…."
And what’s the secret? This whole body of Pauline truths, how that the Lord's Last Supper the Passover on through the work of the cross and His resurrection and even His ascension completed every thing that the human race needed for entry into His Salvation. We don’t have to do a thing. God has done it all. But you don’t find that until you get to Paul. And the Holy Spirit opens these thing to us. And this is the whole revelation of that which was kept secret. Now reading on in chapter 3 of Ephesians.
