The Secret and Mysteries of GOD revisited, part 19.03d Lawlessnesses mystery, Satanic Wiles, unbelief

We are continuing with our look into the unbelief of unbelievers, before the LORD willing, and then into unfaithfulness from GOD's perspective.

Unbelief:

Some general references to unbelievers,

Luke 12:46 of 41-48 "Peter said, "Lord, are You telling this parable for us or for all?" And the Lord said, 'Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. But if that servant says to himself, 'My master is delayed in coming,' and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and get drunk, the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces and put him with the unfaithful. And that servant who knew his master's will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating. But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.'"

John 4:48 of 46-54 "So Jesus came again to Cana in Galilee, where He had made the water wine. And at Capernaum there was an official whose son was ill. When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to Him and asked of Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. So Jesus said to him, 'Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.' To this the official said to Him, "Sir, come down before my child dies." Then Jesus said to him, 'Go; your son will live.' The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way. As he was going down, his servants met him and told him that his son was recovering. So he asked them the hour when he began to get better, and they said to him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him." The father knew that was the hour when Jesus had said to him, "'Your son will live.'" And he himself believed, and all his household. This was now the second sign that Jesus did when He had come from Judea to Galilee."

John 5:38 of 30, 31-32, 33-35, 36, 37-47 (Jesus is speaking) "'I can do nothing on My own. As I hear, I judge, and My judgment is just, because I seek not My own will but the will of Him Who sent Me. (Deuteronomy 18:15-22)

If I alone bear witness about Myself, My testimony is not true. There is another Who bears witness about Me, and I know that the testimony that HE bears about Me is true.

Witness of John the baptist,
You sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. Not that the testimony that I receive is from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved. He was a burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.

Witnessed by the works,
But the testimony that I have is greater than that of John. For the works that the Father has given Me to accomplish, the very works that I am doing, bear witness about Me that the Father has sent Me.

Witness of the Father,
And the Father Who sent Me has Himself borne witness about Me. His voice you have never heard, His form you have never seen, and you do not have His word abiding in you, for you do not believe the one Whom HE has sent.

The witness of scripture,
You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about Me, yet you refuse to come to Me that you may have life. I do not receive glory from people. For I know that you do not have the love of GOD within you. I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him. How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only GOD? Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you: Moses, on whom you have set your hope. For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote of Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?'"

John 8:45 of 39-47 "They (the elitism of the Jews) answered Jesus, "Abraham is our father." Jesus said to them, 'If you were Abraham's children, you would be doing the works Abraham did, but now you seek to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from GOD. This is not what Abraham did. You are doing the works your father did.' They said to Him, "We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father—even God." To this Jesus said to them, 'If GOD were your Father, you would love Me, for I came from GOD and I am here. I came not of My own accord, but HE sent Me. (Deuteronomy 18:17-19 of 15-22) Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear (My way of speaking) My word. You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? Whoever is of GOD hears the words of GOD. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.'"

John 10:26 of 22-30 "At that time the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem. It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon. So the Jews gathered around Him and said to Him, "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly." Jesus answered them, 'I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father's name bear witness about Me, but you do not believe because you are not among My sheep. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are One.'"

Acts 14:2 of 1-7 "Now at Iconium they entered together into the Jewish synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of both Jews and Greeks believed. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers. So they remained for a long time, speaking boldly for the LORD, Who bore witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands. But the people of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews and some with the apostles. When an attempt was made by both Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, to mistreat them and to stone them, they learned of it and fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the surrounding country, and there they continued to preach the gospel."

2Thessalonians 3:2 of 1-5 "Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the LORD may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have faith. For the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one. And we have confidence in the LORD about you, that you are doing and will do the things that we command. May the LORD direct your hearts by the love of GOD and to the steadfastness of Christ."

Revelation 21:8 of 5-8 "And HE Who was seated on the throne said, 'Behold, I am making all things new.' Also HE said, 'Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.' And HE said to me, 'It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his GOD and he will be My son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.'"

Doubt Rebuked:
(Matthew 6:30 of 25-33, 34 (Jesus is speaking) "'Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if GOD so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will HE not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of GOD and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.'")

Peter Sinks into the Sea,

Matthew 14:31 of 28-33; 16:8 "And Peter answered Him, "LORD!, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." He said, 'Come.' So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, "LORD!, save me." Jesus immediately reached out His hand and took hold of him, saying to him, 'O you of little faith, why did you doubt?' Immediately, they got into the boat, the wind ceased. And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of GOD!"

Matthew 16:8 of 5-12 "When the disciples reached the other side, they had forgotten to bring any bread. Jesus said to them, 'Watch and beware of the leaven (sin) of the Pharisees and Sadducees.' And they began discussing it among themselves, saying, "We brought no bread." But Jesus, aware of this, said, 'O you of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? How is it that you fail to understand that I did not speak about bread? Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.' Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

The disciples powerless to heal,

Matthew 17:17 of 14-18 "And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus and, kneeling before Him, said, "Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and he suffers terribly. For often he falls into the fire, and often into the water. And I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not heal him." And Jesus answered, 'O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to Me.' And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly."

The disciples in a storm,

Mark 4:40 of 33-34, 35-41 "With many such parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it. He did not speak to them without a parable, but privately to His own disciples He explained everything.
On that day, when evening had come, He said to them, 'Let us go across to the other side.' And leaving the crowd, they took Him with them in the boat, just as He was. And other boats were with them. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boats, so that the boats were already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?" And He awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, 'Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?' And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?"

The two on the way to Emmaus,

Luke 24:25 of 13-27 and John 20:27 "That very day (of the resurrection of the dead, Matthew 27:52-54, the first fruits of the harvest) two of them were going to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and they were talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing Him. As He said to them, 'What is this conversation that you are holding with each other as you walk?' And they stood still, looking sad. One of them, named Cleopas, answered Him, "Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?" And He said to them, 'What things?' And they said to Him, "Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, a man who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, and how our chief priests and rulers delivered Him up to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. But we had hoped that He was the one to redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened. Moreover, some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning, and when they did not find His body, they came back saying that they had even seen a vision of angels, who said that He was alive. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but Him they did not see." And He said to them,en 'O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spok! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into His glory?' And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself."

John 20:27 of 26-29 "Eight days later, His disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, 'Peace be with you.' Then He said to Thomas, 'Put your finger here, and see My hands; and put out your hand, and place it in My side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.' Thomas answered Him, "My LORD and my GOD!" Jesus said to him, 'Have you believed because you have seen Me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.'"
