The Epistle to the Hebrews part CCXC

Continuing with Philippians 1:6

Philippians 1:6
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”

Here we see its Christ who begins and then does the work in us until the day of Christ which could be the departure of His Body. But setting all religion and religiousness aside what Paul by the Spirit of Christ who was at work within Paul is saying is this. That when we as or like Saul of Tarsus who became Paul through the operation of the cross ie...the putting to death the spirit of the evil one who was at work within Saul, an extreme Religionist of his day. For remember that he relates the opposition which his natural demonic (his religious) nature had with his newly re-birthed spirit (set free from sin's guilt and shame) had because of the ontological essence of Christ within him as found in Romans 7:8-23. When the essence of Christ, by the Holy Spirit's working and keep in mind that the Holy Spirit is God the Father and is God the Son, as the Spirit of Truth, Grace, Life, Love, Holiness and Righteousness to name but a few parts of His ontological character. Indwells us we become John 17 and the Lord's High Priestly prayer there revealed.

But the whole concept here from Hebrews is that Christ is not only the "author and the finisher of our faith," He is our file leader. We follow Him, and Him alone. At first we are operating on His faith, then after we receive Him, the operation of the cross' death, His faith is then working in us which becomes to us faith. This is just one of the secrets of the finished work of the cross. All right, so we look to Jesus, up there at the front, leading us on into eternity in His victory over evil and religion by, "and the finisher of our faith." In other words, not only did He begin it, He'll finished it. When we remove the compartmentalizational effects of religion from our understanding in order to see as God sees and to hear as God hears then we can say "it is no longer I who live but Christ Lives His Life in me".(Galatians 2:20, Philippians 4:13, 1 Peter 1:8, and 1 Peter 4:2) For this is the revelation of 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

Hebrews 12:2b
"...who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,…"

Now that is hard to comprehend isn’t it? He knew what was coming. He knew exactly what every Roman soldier would do to Him. He knew the horrors of having all the sin of the world laid on Him, but I don't think He fully knew the pain of the loss of He spirit as revealed when He cried out in agony from the cross, "Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34) Yes, you've heard me right I feel that Jesus died spiritually just as Adam did when he ate of the fruit. He had to in order to become our forever herald of the New and Living Covenant of Grace operation within us. By the power of a resurrected Life. New Life, Eternal Life that is restored to those who are become the willing ones. The ones who have chosen God's Way and Will allowing God to be God restored to them and within them.

Go back to Philippians. We like to use as many Scriptures as possible because that’s the name of the game, compare Scripture with Scripture. Philippians chapter 2 and I usually like to start up there in verse 5. If you read it often enough, first thing you know, you'll understand it - have you found that out yet? If you just use a few verses often enough, it isn’t long until you can receive the inspiration that is in them. All right:

Philippians 2:5-6
"Let this mind be in you,
(think as He thought) which was also in Christ Jesus: Who (speaking of Christ) being in the form of God, (He was God. Never anything less than God) thought it not robbery to be equal with God:"
In other words, when He claimed to be God, He was not taking anything away from the power of the Godhead, of which He was a part. When we've been accepted of the Father, we'll be in like position. We become One with Him who Is the Fulness and the All in all. Would it help to say, the Father of spirits? Now verse 7:

Philippians 2:7
"But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
