The LORD our Passover

Again listen for the words and terms related to our key words of yoke and LORD, words like Master, vine and Father in the following text. In Mark 14 beginning at verse 1, sets the stage for what follows in verse 12 through 26; “After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: (the metiphoric simbolizism used for the Body of Christ Jesus, the Lamb of God) and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take Him by craft, and put Him to death. But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people........The first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, His disciples asked Him, Where would You that we go and prepare for You to eat the passover? And He sent two of His disciples, and said, Go into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. And where ever he shall go in, say to the good man of the house, The Master said, Where is the guest chamber, where I shall eat the passover with My disciples? And he will show you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us. And His disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as He had said to them: and they made ready the passover.

When it was evening He came with the twelve. And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say to you, One of you which eats with Me shall betray Me. And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to Him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I? And He answering said to them, It is one of the twelve, that dips with Me in the dish. The Son of man indeed goes, as it is written of Him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born. As they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke it, and gave to them, and saying, Take, eat: this is My body. And He took the cup, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them: and they all drank of it. And He said to them, This is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many. Verily I say to you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God. And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.”

In Luke 22 beginning with verse 7 through to 23, in 24 we find this; “Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed. And He sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat. And they said to Him, Where will You that we prepare? And He said to them, Behold, when you are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he enters in. And you shall say to the good man of the house, The Master says to you, Where is the guest chamber, where I shall eat the passover with My disciples? And he shall show you a large upper room furnished: there make ready. And they went, and found as He had said to them: and they made ready the passover.

When the hour was come, He sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him. And He said to them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: For I say to you, I will not any more eat thereof it, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. And He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: For I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. And He took bread, and gave thanks, and broke it, and gave to them, saying, This is My body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of Me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you. But, behold, the hand of him that betrays Me is with Me on the table. And truly the Son of man goes, as it was determined: but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed! And they began to enquirer among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.

And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.”
