Discovering the Great and Precious Promises of GOD (Wisdom)

I through the LORD of Grace and Truth have advanced us to the point that we have talked about GODS Wisdom on more than one occasion and hinted of it in others. So I want to spend some time looking into the Promise of our acquiring Wisdom and not the earthy kind but of the spiritual kind. But that assumes that we have become One with Christ the LORD. For it is required of us to have reached this point in our spiritual knowledge of HIM which is the path that I have been on since I began this operation. And of looking at the Promises of GOD. Now before getting into Wisdom I will turn to Pastor Hoekstra and his writing on Grace and Christ. And as has become my habit I will use the ESV translation for my studies and if and when the LORD gives me insight I will edit what ever it is that flowing at that point.

"Spiritual Insight for Knowing the Lord"
"Making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him (Ephesians 1:16-17)."

"The New Covenant of Grace by which we relate to GOD and HE relates to us is designed to bring us a growing, Intimate Knowledge of our new lord ascended the LORD. However, this growing in Knowing GOD requires that He reveals Himself to us. This is why Paul prayed for other believers to this end: "Making mention of you in my prayers: that the GOD of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, or the Father of spirits may give to you the "spirit of wisdom" and revelation in the Knowledge of Him."

In order to increase in the Knowledge of GOD, one must be given heaven-sent spiritual insight: "that . . . GOD . . . may give to you the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation." GOD cannot be seen by natural sight. "Who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable Light, Whom no man has seen or can see" (1 Timothy 6:16).

GOD cannot be known by natural wisdom. "The world through wisdom did (does) not know GOD" (1Corinthians 1:21). The things of GOD must be revealed to us by the Lord, Whom is LORD. "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which GOD has prepared for those who love Him. But GOD has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of GOD" (1Corinthians 2:9-10).

Jesus rejoiced in the divine wisdom of this plan. "In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, 'I praise You, Father, LORD of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight'" (Luke 10:21). Jesus also encouraged those who humbly received GOD-given insight into Spiritual Realities. "And Simon Peter answered and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the Living GOD.' Jesus answered and said to him, 'Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven'" (Matthew 16:16-17).

Jesus taught His followers to rely upon the teaching, revealing ministry of the Holy Spirit to know the things of GOD. "However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all Truth . . . He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you" (John 16:13-14).

Wisdom Promised:
Proverbs 2:1-22 "My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of GOD.
For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come Knowledge and Understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints.
Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path; for wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you, delivering you from the way of evil, from men of perverted speech, who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, who rejoice in doing evil and delight in the perverseness of evil, men whose paths are crooked, and who are devious in their ways.
So you will be delivered from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words, who forsakes the companion of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God; for her house sinks down to death, and her paths to the departed; none who go to her come back, nor do they regain the paths of life.
So you will walk in the way of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous. For the upright will inhabit the land, and those with integrity will remain in it, but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the treacherous will be rooted out of it."

Ecclesiastes 2:24-26 "There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, for apart from Him who can eat or who can have enjoyment? For to the one who pleases Him GOD has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner HE has given the business of gathering and collecting, only to give to one who pleases GOD. This also is vanity and a striving after wind."

Daniel 2:17-23 "Then Daniel went to his house and made the matter known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, and told them to seek mercy from the GOD of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions might not be destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night.
Then Daniel blessed the GOD of heaven. Daniel answered and said: "Blessed be the name of GOD forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. He changes times and seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him. To You, O GOD of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, for You have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of You, for You have made known to us the king's matter."

Luke 21:10-11, 12-19 (Jesus is speaking) "Then He said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.
But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake. This will be your opportunity to bear witness. Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be hated by all for My name's sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives."

James 1:5-9 "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask GOD, Who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the LORD; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation."
