Discovering the Great and Precious Promises of GOD (Wisdom)

I have embarked on a course to find GODS Wisdom. The thing that so many believe and is not to be had or understood remains a secret to them. If that were so, then the Bible which is the revealing of GODS Will and law restored within man, once his spirit has been awakened and united to GOD again, is not in error. For if mans remains in that state, knows not that from that place on GODS Wisdom becomes ours as is scene in Genesis 2. Now for Pastor Hoekstra and his writing on Grace and the legacy of our inheritance in Christ the Promise of all Promises, one of which is wisdom in the true Knowledge of Him. I will again use the ESV translation and when the LORD gives me utterance I will add it to the mix.

                          "Experiencing the Lord's Goodness"
"Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!"  (Psalm 34:8)

"The scriptures clearly declare that the Knowledge of the LORD is for developing a Relationship, not merely cataloging correct information about Him. Grace and peace are to be "multiplied to" us (2Peter 1:2), not just memorized by us. "All things that pertain to Life and Godliness" (2Peter 1:3) are to be drawn upon for Godly Living, not merely listed to validate our orthodoxy. As we get to know the LORD, His goodness is to be experienced in our lives. As we personify His presence within our being. Which is GOD in us as in Genesis 2.

Our present verse is quite forthright concerning this point. "Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good." The LORD is good. He is merciful, kind, gracious, and patient. The scriptures abound with declarations of GOD's goodness. "Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever" (Psalm 107:1). This goodness of GOD is to be experienced by GOD's people. "My people shall be satisfied with My goodness" (Jeremiah 31:14). We are to "taste and see" GOD's goodness, not only to hear of it and talk about it. But live it out as seen in those of the old testament such as those listed in Hebrews 11. This understanding is quite different than is taught in today's churches. They teach and promote mans slavery to sin death and the deceiver that gives to him more credit than it does to GODS indwelling us. So man has more knowledge of sin than it does of GODS presence restored in the soul of man, as promised to man in Genesis 3:15. And the Oath of GOD as we have seen in Hebrews and Paul's many other revelations of the secret things of GOD.

How does a person experience the goodness of the LORD? "Blessed is the man who Trusts in Him!" GOD's goodness is available for our personal experience whenever we Trust Him. "Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear (worship in spirit and truth) You, which You have prepared for those who Trust in You In the presence of the sons of men! " (Psalm 31:19). When we rely upon the LORD, His goodness brings forth peace in our lives. "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he Trusts in You" (Isaiah 26:3). When we depend upon the LORD, His goodness brings forth rejoicing in our lives. "Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His Holy name" (Psalm 33:20-21).

It should not be surprising to us that faith in the LORD is the pathway to experiencing His goodness. We have noted in a number of these meditations that faith is one of the Relational Realities that allow a child of GOD to live by His Grace. Faith accesses Grace (Romans 5:2). "The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him" (Lamentations 3:25).

We Trust in the LORD the more we get acquainted with Him. We Trust in the LORD the more we allow Him to demonstrate His faithfulness. "And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You" (Psalm 9:10).

True Wisdom:

The Fear (reverence) of GOD Constitutes,
Job 28:23-28 "God understands the way to it, and He knows its place (wisdom). For He looks to the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens. When He gave to the wind its weight and apportioned the waters by measure, when He made a decree for the rain and a way for the lightning of the thunder, then He saw it and declared it; He established it, and searched it out. And He said to man, 'Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.'"

Experience Augments,
Job 32:6-10 and Psalm 111:10, Proverbs 1:20 "And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said: "I am young in years, and you are aged; therefore I was timid and afraid to declare my opinion to You. I said, 'Let days speak, and many years teach wisdom.' But it is the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand. It is not the old who are wise, nor the aged who understand what is right. Therefore I say, 'Listen to me; let me also declare my opinion.'"

Psalm 111:7-10 "The works of His hands are faithful and just; all His precepts are trustworthy; they are established forever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness. He sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever. Holy and awesome is His name! The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!"

Proverbs 1:20-33 "Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: "How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge? If you turn at My reproof, behold, I will pour out My Spirit on you; I Will make My words known to you. Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out My hand and no one has heeded, because you have ignored all My counsel and would have none of My reproof, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you, when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call upon Me, but I will not answer; they will seek Me diligently but will not find Me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear (reverence or respect) of the LORD, would have none of My counsel and despised all My reproof, therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way, and have their fill of their own devices. For the simple are killed by their turning away, and the complacency of fools destroys them; but whoever listens to Me Will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster."

The Supreme Acquisition,
Proverbs 4:1-9 and 9:1 "Hear, O sons, a father's instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight, for I give you good precepts; do not forsake My teaching. When I was a son with my father, tender, the only one in the sight of my mother, HE taught me and said to me, "Let your heart hold fast My words; keep My commandments, and live. Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of My mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; love her, and she will guard you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight.
Prize her highly, and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you embrace her. She will place on your head a graceful garland; she will bestow on you a beautiful crown."

Proverbs 9:1-12 "Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn her seven pillars. She has slaughtered her beasts; she has mixed her wine; she has also set her table. She has sent out her young women to call from the highest places in the town, "Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!" To him who lacks sense she says, "Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed. Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight." Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse, and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury. Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you. Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. For by Me your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life. If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if you scoff, you alone will bear it."

Apprehend Divine Truth,
Hosea 14:8-9 "O Ephraim, what have I to do with idols? It is I who answer and look after you. I am like an evergreen cypress; from Me comes your fruit. Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them; for the ways of the LORD are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them."

Lays an Immovable Foundation,
Matthew 7:24-27 and 1Corinthians 2:6, 12:8 (Jesus is speaking) "Everyone then who hears these words of Mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it."

1Corinthians 2:6-13 "Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of GOD, which GOD decreed before the Ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the LORD of Glory. But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what GOD has prepared for those who love Him"— these things GOD has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of GOD. For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of GOD except the Spirit of GOD. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit Who is from GOD, that we might understand the things freely given us by GOD. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting Spiritual Truths to those who are spiritual."

1Corinthians 12:4-11 "Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same LORD; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same GOD Who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by One and the same Spirit, Who apportions to each one individually as HE Wills."

The Scriptures, the Source of Wisdom,
2Timothy 2:14-19 "Remind them of these things, and charge them before GOD not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers. Do your best to present yourself to GOD as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of Truth. But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have swerved from the Truth, saying that the resurrection has already happened. They are upsetting the faith of some. But GOD's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: "The LORD knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of the LORD depart from iniquity."

Full of Spiritual Fruits,
James 3:13-18 and 1John 2:20 "Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the Truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace."

1John 2:18-25 "Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have Knowledge. I write to you, not because you do not know the Truth, but because you know Him, and because no lie is of the Truth. Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also. Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that HE made to us—Eternal Life."
