The Secrets and Mysteries of GOD revisited, part 8f

Okay, we are now ready to look at Romans 11:25 through 36, as a means of refreshing our minds, here is what it states; "Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, "The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob" (Isaiah 59:20); "and this will be My covenant with them when I take away their sins." (Isaiah 59:21, Jeremiah 31:33-34) As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For just as you were at one time disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their disobedience, so they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may now receive mercy. For God has consigned all to disobedience, that HE may have mercy on all. Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and how inscrutable His ways! (Job 5:9, 11:7, 15:8) LORD who has known the mind of the LORD, or who has been His counselor?" (Isaiah 40:13f) "Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?" (Job 35:7, 41:11) For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen."

There are many subtopic areas within the context of this scripture, and all are of interest, that we may look into as the LORD directs me and for that reason this portion may take sometime to research and bring to light. There is nothing quick and easy about learning of the LORD, for He is in no hurry to get us all perfect in the knowledge of Him Who Is. It is for this reason that throughout the Bible there are areas that are repeated some in veiled language some in open easy to understand language, or are they? Jesus used two metaphors one dealing with a pearl the other as a coin of great value, He used many means to bring to light the secrets of GOD and His kingdom among men, that is to say within man. Because all began within the heart of GOD and so it is with each of us.

Now here are but a few of the subtopics of Romans 11:25-36; instruction, blindness, spiritual blindness, redeemer, salvation, restoration, unbelief, God's wisdom and knowledge, and great mysteries, to name but a few. Many of these we have already examined elsewhere in this blog.

Conceit, falls under the term Proud, or Pride the following are warnings against,

Proverbs 3:1-12 "My son, do not forget my teaching (law), but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor (precious grace) and good success in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear (moving towards a mark in the distance with dread and reverence for) the LORD, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. Honor the LORD with your (substance) wealth and with the first-fruits of all your produce (that which is restored); then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine. My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline or be weary of His reproof, for the LORD reproves him whom He loves, as a father the son in whom he delights."

Proverbs 26:5-17 "Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes. Whoever sends a message by the hand of a fool cuts off his own feet and drinks violence. Like a lame man's legs, which hang useless, is a proverb in the mouth of fools. Like one who binds the stone in the sling is one who gives honor to a fool. Like a thorn that goes up into the hand of a drunkard is a proverb in the mouth of fools. Like an archer who wounds everyone is one who hires a passing fool or drunkard.
Like a dog that returns to his vomit is a fool who repeats his folly. Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. The sluggard says, "There is a lion in the road! There is a lion in the streets!" As a door turns on its hinges, so does a sluggard on his bed. The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; it wears him out to bring it back to his mouth. The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who can answer sensibly. Whoever meddles in a quarrel not his own is like one who takes a passing dog by the ears."

Isaiah 5:18-23 "Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, who draw sin as with cart ropes, who say: "Let him be quick, let him speed his work that we may see it; let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near, and let it come, that we may know it!" Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight! Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine, and valiant men in mixing strong drink, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, and deprive the innocent of his right!"

Romans 12:14-21 "Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord." (Proverbs 20:22, 24:29; Deuteronomy 32:35, Psalm 94:1) To the contrary, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head." (2Kings 6:22, Proverbs 25:21f) Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

1Corinthians 8:1-3 with Galatians 6:3 "Now concerning food offered to idols: we know that "all of us possess knowledge." This "knowledge" puffs up, but love builds up. If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know. But if anyone loves God, he is known by God."

Galatians 6:1-5 "Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. For each will have to bear his own load."
