The Truth that sets Humanity Free from the snare of Legalism as pushed by man's Religion and it's accompaning Religious forms, this being SIN.

 Day 5

I want to look again at Numbers 14 but this time at verse 24 as it reveals something some what unusual within it's context:

Num. 14:23-24 The LORD is speaking here: 'Surely they shall not see the land which I swore to their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked Me see it: But My servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and has followed Me fully, him will I bring into the land where-into he went; and his seed (notice that is a singular seed, meaning Christ) shall possess it.'

So what is this "another spirit" what does this mean? The LXX has this for "another": H312, means hinder, from H309, meaning defer. Then the word "spirit": H7307, meaning breathe, life, from H7306, meaning to perceive, to make of quick understanding.

Now for Psalm 100 verse 3 where we have this:

Psa 100:3-4  Know that the LORD He is GOD: it is He that has made you, and not we ourselves; We are His people (H5971, nation), and the sheep (H6629, to migrate) of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful in Him, and bless His name.

The following is taken from Clark's record: Know that the Lord he is God - Acknowledge in every possible way, both in public and private, that Jehovah, the un-created self-existent, and eternal Being, is Elohiym, the GOD Who is in covenant with man, to instruct, redeem, love, and make him finally happy.
It is He that has made us - He is our Creator and has consequently the only right in and over us.... God made us, therefore we are His: we are His people, and should acknowledge Him for our GOD; We are the sheep of His pasture, and should devote our lives to Him constantly which He continually supports.

Now for Gill's commentary as follows: Know you that the Lord He is God,.... Own and acknowledge Him to be God, as well as man; And though a man, yet not a mere man, but the great God and our Savior, the true God and eternal life; So a man, as that he is Jehovah's fellow; Or our God, as the Syriac and Ethiopic versions; Immanuel, God within us, God in our nature, God manifested in the flesh:

It is He that has made us; As men, without whom nothing is made that was made; In Him we live, move, and have our being; And, as new creatures, we are His workmanship, created in Him, and by Him; Regenerated by His Spirit and grace, and formed for Himself, His service and glory; and made great and honorable by Him, raised from a low to an high estate; From being beggars on the dunghill, to sit among princes; Yes, made kings and priests unto GOD by Him; so, Kimchi, "He has brought us up, and exalted us:''
And this not we ourselves; That is, did not make ourselves, neither as creatures, nor as new creatures; For we have no hand in making either our souls or bodies, so neither in our regeneration, or in the work of GOD upon our hearts; That is solely the Lord's work: there is a double reading of this clause; The marginal reading is, and we are His; Which is followed by the Targum and Aben Ezra: both are approved of by Kimchi, and the sense of both is included; For if the Lord has made us, and not we ourselves, then we are not our own, but His, and ought to serve and glorify Him: we are His by creation; "We are also His offspring," as said Aratus, an Heathen poet, cited by the Apostle Paul, in Acts 17:28, we are His people; By choice and covenant; By His Father's gift, and His own purchase; And by the power of His grace, bringing to a voluntary surrender and subjection to Him; Even the Gentiles particularly, who were not His people, but now are His people. 1Pet 2:9, and the sheep of His pasture; His sheep also by gift and purchase, called by Him, made to know His voice, and follow Him; For whom He provides pasture, leads to it, and feeds them with it Himself; see Psa. 74:1.

If anything what is expressed in the after-fore commentaries is our original identity (Gen. 1:26-28, 2:7, 18, 21-23, 24; Lev. 17:11) Jesus put this in several ways: in one, He said for us to eat of His flesh and drink in of His blood, in another He said that we are to abide in Him and He would abide in us. But the one that stands out is that of John 16:26 which states this beginning at verse 25: John 16:25-28  'These things have I spoken to you in proverbs: but there is a time to come, when I shall no more speak to you in proverbs, for I shall show you plainly of the Father. At that day you shall ask in My name: and I say not to you, that I will pray the Father for you: For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came out from GOD. I came forth from the Father, and I am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.' Now there are many more of such as this in Jesus' teachings. GOD is Love, Life, and Light. These three are to be operational within us as well.

This then is the Gospel our redeemed (restored to our knowing of our) identity of inseparable unity; by GOD'S Righteousness which is our innocence.
