The LORD our Passover

Continuing with the indexing for May 4th

Next I want to look at this again from my comments where we find, I must get to the Last Supper this as found in Matthew 26, Mark 14, Luke 22, John 13:21-30 and 1Corinthians 5:7 and chapter 11. This is covered in my other blog so I will not repeat it here.

The last one is where we find this, “Drink all of it; For this is My blood of the new testament,” (Jeremiah 31:31-32, 33-34, 32:40, Ezekiel 37:26)

Jeremiah 31:27-30, 31-34 “Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man (in the flowing of grape juice, as with blood), and with the seed of beast (the husbandman, who takes his dead brothers wife as his own). And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, says the LORD*. In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eats the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.

Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah (for they had broken the old many times over and it was weak because of unbelief): Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was an husband to them, says the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, said the LORD, I will put My law (kingdom rule) in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, said the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

*We must know the meaning of the title LORD in order to understand what this is saying and I might add the lesson of the fig-tree.

Jeremiah 32:36-44 “Now therefore thus said the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof you say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence; Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in My anger, and in My fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again to this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: And they shall be My people, and I will be their God: And I will give them One heart, and One Way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from Me. Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with My whole soul. For thus has the LORD said; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them. And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof you say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans. Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, said the LORD.”

Ezekiel 37:24-28 (26) “And David My servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in My judgments, and observe My statutes, and do them. And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and My servant David shall be their prince forever. Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in the midst (in their being) of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be within them: yes, I will be their God, and they shall be My people. And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary shall be in the midst (not just among but within) of them forevermore.”

The LORD our Passover

Continuing with the indexing for May 4th

In the following passage we find a stern warning not to continue association with those of hostile behavior.

Romans 16:17-20, 21-24, 25-27 “Now I beseech you, mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the (sound) doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience is come abroad to all. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise to that which is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of Peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be within you. Through the Amen.

Timotheus my work fellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you. I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord. Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, salutes you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city salutes you, and Quartus a brother. The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, but now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. The Amen.”

Next I will tackle this from my comments, My question for this is, have we now a clearer picture of what is about to take place at the Passover table and there following? Because you see the events are but one continuous event from the evening meal through the LORD's ascension, as seen in Psalm 68:18, Ephesians 4:8-10, Colossians 1:19-20, 21-29, 2:15.

Psalm 68:15-18, 19-21 “The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan. Why leap you, you high hills? this is the hill which God desires to dwell in; yes, the LORD will dwell in it forever. The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive: You have received gifts for men; yes, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them. Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.

He that is our God, the God of salvation; and to GOD the Lord belongs the issues from death. But God shall wound the head of His enemies, the hairy scalp of such an one as goes on still in his trespasses.”

Ephesians 4:7-16 (8-10) “But to every one of us is given Grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore He said, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts* to men. (Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fill all things.) And He gave* (the gifts herein listed) some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the Knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight and cunning craftiness of men, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, Christ: From Whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the Body to the edifying of itself in love.”

Colossians 1:9-14, 15-20, 21-23, 24-29, 2:8-15, 16-17 “For this cause we also, since the day we heard, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of His Will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That you might walk worthy of the Lord to all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, to all patience and long suffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks to the Father, Who has made us meet (fit) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son: In Whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn (from the dead) of every creature: For by (through) Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: He is before all things, and by (through) Him all things consist. He is the head of the Body, the Church: Who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that In Him should all fullness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things to Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now has He reconciled In the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for His Body's sake, which is the Church: Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God; Even the mystery which had been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect In Christ Jesus: Whereto I also labor, striving according to His working, which works in me mightily.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For In Him dwelled all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And you are made the complete In Him, which is the head of all principality and power: In Whom also you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by (through) the circumcision of Christ: Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also you are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, Who has raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead (separated from God) in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has He quickened (made alive) together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that were against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross; having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holiday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which were a shadow of things to come; but the Body of them is Christ.” I moved the two letter word "of" because it changes the subject to Christ and not the holidays or the meat or drink. Also this holds true throughout all of the OT scriptures for they all speak of and point to one person the Messiah-Christ.

The LORD our Passover

Continuing with the indexing for May 4th

Romans 15:1-3, 4-13, 14-21, 22-29, 30-33 “We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not Himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached You fell on Me.

For whatever things were written afore time were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like minded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore receive one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers: And that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to You among the Gentiles, and sing to Your name. And again He said, Rejoice, you Gentiles, with His people. And again, Praise the Lord, all Gentiles; and laud Him, all people. And again, Esaias said, There shall be a root of Jesse, and He that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; In Him shall the Gentiles trust. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. Nevertheless, I have written the more boldly to you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the Grace that is given to me of God, that I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the Gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God. For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,

through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about to Illyricum, I have fully preached the Gospel of Christ. Yes, so have I striven to preach this Gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation: But as it is written, To whom He was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.

For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you. But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come to you; Whenever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way there by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company. But now I go to Jerusalem to minister to the saints. For it has pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem. It has pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in carnal things. When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain. And I am sure that, when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

Now I beseech you, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints; That I may come to you with joy by the Will of God, and may with you be refreshed. Now the God of peace be with you all. In the Amen.”

The LORD our Passover

The beginning of indexing for May 4th

Picking up on theme of was laid the day before I have, the chosen: Mat. 24:34, Luke 24:44, John 19:28, Acts 13:32-33; Romans 9:25-30, 15:9-13, 16:25-26

Mat. 24: 34 “Verily I say to you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.”

Luke 24:44 Jesus said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning Me.”

John 19:28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst.”

Paul is here speaking in Acts 13:32-33 “And we declare to you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made to the fathers, God has fulfilled the same to us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second Psalm, You are My Son, this day have I begotten You.”

The next one is taken from Romans chapter 9 but to get the full impact of what Paul is here saying we need to begin at the beginning and like the rest of the passages of scripture strive to separated each thought in its correct place.

Romans 9:1-5, 6-13, 14-18, 19-26, 27-29, 30-10:4 “I say that the truth is In Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, that I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: Who are Israelites; to whom pertains the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, Who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.

Not as though the word of God has taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall your seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.(This is more fully explained in the fig-tree parable explanation.) For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, by our father Isaac; (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of Him that calls;) It was said to her, The elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. For He said to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. For the scripture said to Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised you up, that I might show My power in you, and that My name might be declared throughout all the earth. Therefore He has mercy on whom He will have mercy, and whom He will He hards.

You will say then to me, Why does He yet find fault? For who has resisted His will? Nay but, O man, who are you that replies against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why have you made me thus? Has not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel to honor, and another to dishonor? If God, is willing to show His wrath, and to make His power known, endured with much long suffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had afore prepared to glory, even us, whom He has called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? As He said also in Osee (Hosea), I will call them My people, which were not My people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said to them, You are not My people; there shall they be called the children of the Living God.

Esaias (Isaiah) also cries concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: For He will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. And as Esaias said before, except the Lord of Sabbath had left us a seed, we had been as Sodom, and been made like to Gomorrah.

What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness. Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of (not understanding) the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone; As it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense: and whoever believes Him shall not be ashamed. Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved (come to true repentance). For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believes.”

The LORD our Passover

Continuing the indexing list for May 3rd

Luke 21:20-24, 25-28, 29-33, 34-36 “When you see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter there into. For these be the days of vengeance* (the Last Judgment), that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.(This all took place in accord with Daniel 9:24-27 in 66-70 AD at the hands of the Romans after the death of both Peter in 68 and Paul in 66 AD.)

There shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.(Spoken of in Acts by Stenphens witness of this.) And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws nigh.

He spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, you see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise, when you see these things come to pass, know that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say to you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but My words shall not pass away.

Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”

This parable or similitude has the following meaning if we have received of the Lord (the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth) and a changed heart in which is found His character being restored. The first fig-tree was unproductive as it had already leaves but no figs or fruitfulness, this is and was Israel under its present leaders. If it had fruit it was purely of the external kind, of mans own doing, a natural fruit of limited goodness.
With international sense, when the branch is tender, summer or new life is near = a new church is about to spring forth. The fig-tree is the good of the natural, the branch is the affection of this and the leaves are the truth of good fruit.

Those who do not know or are not acquainted with the internal sense of the Word of revelation, cannot possibly know what is involved in the comparison of the Lord's coming, as the Holy Spirit, to the fig-tree and its branches and leaves. A fig-tree wherever mentioned signifies the internal or the good of the natural; the branch is the affection of this good because affection springs from good (compassion and charity) as a by product that springs from it source of the trunk, the leaves bear witness of the trees truth.
The parable indicates that a New Church is about to spring forth of the Lord's making, it has all the good of the natural, this is to say the good in the external form together with the affection and truths of the internal.
By the good of the natural it is not meant the good into which natural man is born, or which is derived from his parents, but is only the good derived from a change from the dead life, to the New Life in which there is only good in respect to its New Origin. Into this no one is born, but is led, or called by the Lord through the knowledge of good and Truth. Therefore until a man is in this good, that is spiritual good, he is not a man of the Church, however much good that he is born into and may appear to be.
This is a treatise for the consummation of the age (where all things were formerly Israel only with few exceptions), this is seen in this, “the Last Judgment,”(Luke 21:22 in the word vengeance) and the signs which precede it are enumerated, which are meant by, “when all these things begin to come to pass.” The New Church is then to begin, as the phrase, “the kingdom of God is nigh” expresses, this coupled within the beginning an external as senn by, “Behold the fig-tree and all the trees, when they have shot forth.” This similitude is related because “the fig-tree” signifies the external church, and “tree” signifies the knowledge of the Truth and good; in “the kingdom of God” which is near. This is the New Church of this Lord's doing; because at, “the Last Judgment” the old church perishes and a New One begins.
In Luke 6:44, the fruit signifies the good of New Life, and the good of this new Life is the external good from the internal good, as compared to the natural good from the spiritual and from this the truly good man in known, as the Lord said, “Every tree is known by its own fruit; from thorns man do not get figs, nor from a bramble-bush gather they the grape,” “fig” here means the good of the external or natural man, the “grape” the good of the internal or spiritual man, “thorns” and bramble-bush” mean the evil which opposes those of the good.
*the day of vengeance: Look at Isaiah 34:8-17, 61:2-3, Jeremiah 51:5-10 (6), Romans 2:1-16 (5), 17-24, 2Peter 2:4-14 (9), 3:1-7 (7) The term Babylon (In Isaiah 34:5 the term Idumea is used as a metaphor for the church of the anti-christ, in these passages which is the church which causes a breach or division in the LORD's Church and is under His curse of destruction.) is used in Revelation 14, 16, 17, and 18, as the mother of Harlots and Abominations. Because it was in ancient Babylon that the people were of one mind and language until iniquity was the rule or the norm (in Gen. 11:6). This is also repeated in Jeremiah 51, Romans 2 and 2Peter 2 and a part of 3.

The LORD our Passover

Beginning the indexing list for May 3rd

In the second paragraph I have this quote from chapter 21 of Matthew, where we find Jesus after the entry into Jerusalem upon the colt picking up at verse 18 we have this; “In the morning as He returned into the city, He hungered. And when He saw a fig tree in the way, He came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said to it, Let no fruit grow on you henceforward forever. And presently the fig tree withered away. And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! Jesus answering said to them, Verily I say to you, If you have faith, and doubt not, you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if you shall say to this mountain, Be removed, and be cast into the sea; it shall be done. All things, whatever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.”

This parable has its roots found in Judges chapter 9 verses 7 though 57 and beyond. But I want to turn to Matthew 24 where the Lord in verses 32-35 states this, before we look to the other related passages:

Matthew 24:32-35 “Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is nigh: So likewise, when you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the door. Verily I say to you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”

Now for the other writers quote, first Mark 13 and then Luke 21.

Mark 13:24-27, 28-37 “In those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall He send His angels, and shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near: So in like manner, when you shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but My words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take heed, watch and pray: for you know not when the time is. For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch therefore: for you know not when the master of the house comes, at even, or at midnight, or at the cock crowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly He find you sleeping. And what I say to you I say to all, Watch.”

The LORD our Passover

Continuing the indexing list for May 2.

Then I made reference to Colossians which on higher spiritual revelation than say Galatians and Corinthians which also reveals Christ be revelation of Him through the pen of Paul.

Colossians 3:1-11, 12-17, 18-21, 22-25 “If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For you are dead (separated from the world and mans religion and its darkness, though still in it), and your life is hid with Christ in God. For when Christ, Who is our life (Galatians 2:20), shall appear, then shall you also appear with Him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience: In the which you also (formerly) walked some time, when you lived in them. But now you also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man (re-birthed In Christ), which is renewed in knowledge after the image (character) of Him that created him (Gen. 2:7, 22-23): Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long suffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do. Above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule your hearts, to the which also you are called in One Body; and be thankful. Letting the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by (through) Him.

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing to the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye service, as men pleaser's; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: And whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly, as to the Lord, and not to men; Knowing that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for you serve the Lord Christ. But he that does wrong shall receive for the wrong which he has done: and there is no respect of persons.”

Now for the Holy Spirit as found in 2Thessalonians 3 in verse 1 through 5, alone with this there are warning which we must take heed too:

2Thessalonians 3:1-5, 6-13, 14-15, 16, 18 “Finally, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it (He) is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. But the Lord is faithful, Who shall establish (and prefect His character in) you, and keep you from evil. We have this confidence in the Lord touching (before) you, that you both do and will do the things which we command you. And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

Now we command you, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother that walks disorderly, and not after the tradition (instructions delivered) which he received of us. For yourselves know how you ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; Neither did we eat any man's bread for naught; but wrought with labor and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample (examples to all) to you to follow us. For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. But be not weary in well doing.

If any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish (give warning to) him as a brother.

Now the Lord of Peace Himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”

The LORD as a title of respect for kings in Genesis 40, which Joseph showed to those of Pharaoh's house. David did likewise as recorded in Genesis 42. This Daniel does of the Lord before Nebuchadnezzar by his witness of Him as a husband of the earth. Then as a Prophet like onto Moses in Genesis 18, 1Kings 18, 2Kings 2 and a respectable person in genesis 24. Paul as the Lord of glory in 1Corinthains 2 and John in Revelation 19.
