The LORD our Passover

Continuing with the indexing for May 4th

In the following passage we find a stern warning not to continue association with those of hostile behavior.

Romans 16:17-20, 21-24, 25-27 “Now I beseech you, mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the (sound) doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience is come abroad to all. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise to that which is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of Peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be within you. Through the Amen.

Timotheus my work fellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you. I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord. Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, salutes you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city salutes you, and Quartus a brother. The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, but now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. The Amen.”

Next I will tackle this from my comments, My question for this is, have we now a clearer picture of what is about to take place at the Passover table and there following? Because you see the events are but one continuous event from the evening meal through the LORD's ascension, as seen in Psalm 68:18, Ephesians 4:8-10, Colossians 1:19-20, 21-29, 2:15.

Psalm 68:15-18, 19-21 “The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan. Why leap you, you high hills? this is the hill which God desires to dwell in; yes, the LORD will dwell in it forever. The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive: You have received gifts for men; yes, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them. Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.

He that is our God, the God of salvation; and to GOD the Lord belongs the issues from death. But God shall wound the head of His enemies, the hairy scalp of such an one as goes on still in his trespasses.”

Ephesians 4:7-16 (8-10) “But to every one of us is given Grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore He said, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts* to men. (Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fill all things.) And He gave* (the gifts herein listed) some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the Knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight and cunning craftiness of men, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, Christ: From Whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the Body to the edifying of itself in love.”

Colossians 1:9-14, 15-20, 21-23, 24-29, 2:8-15, 16-17 “For this cause we also, since the day we heard, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of His Will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That you might walk worthy of the Lord to all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, to all patience and long suffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks to the Father, Who has made us meet (fit) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son: In Whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn (from the dead) of every creature: For by (through) Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: He is before all things, and by (through) Him all things consist. He is the head of the Body, the Church: Who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that In Him should all fullness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things to Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now has He reconciled In the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for His Body's sake, which is the Church: Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God; Even the mystery which had been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect In Christ Jesus: Whereto I also labor, striving according to His working, which works in me mightily.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For In Him dwelled all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And you are made the complete In Him, which is the head of all principality and power: In Whom also you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by (through) the circumcision of Christ: Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also you are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, Who has raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead (separated from God) in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has He quickened (made alive) together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that were against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross; having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holiday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which were a shadow of things to come; but the Body of them is Christ.” I moved the two letter word "of" because it changes the subject to Christ and not the holidays or the meat or drink. Also this holds true throughout all of the OT scriptures for they all speak of and point to one person the Messiah-Christ.
