The LORD our Passover

Continuing the indexing for May 8th

Revelation 2:18, 19-29 “To the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things said the Son of God, Who has eyes like to a flame of fire, and His feet are like fine brass;

I know your works, and charity, and service, and faith, and your patience, and your works; and the last to be more than the first. Notwithstanding I have a few things against you, because you suffered with that woman Jezebel, which calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce My servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, with them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am He which searches the reins and hearts: and I will give to every one of you according to your works. But to you, and to the rest in Thyatira, I say as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. But that which you have already hold fast to, till I come. And he that overcomes, and keeps My works to the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of My Father. And I will give him the morning star. (Rev. 22:16, Lk. 1:78-79, 2Pet. 1:19) He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit said to the churches.”

Now in John 13:34 we find this: A new commandment (Jeremiah 31:31-33, 34, Galatians 6:2, 1John 2:8-10) I give to you,”

Jeremiah 31: 31-34 “Behold, the days come, said the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which My covenant they broke, although I was an husband to them, said the LORD: This shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, said the LORD, I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people.”

Galatians 6:1-10 (20 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, you which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest you also be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden. Let him that is taught in the word communicate to him that teaches in all good things. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap. For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the spirit shall of the Spirit reap Life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to them who are of the household of faith.”

Form here turn back to Chapter 3 to see what it has to say about this, bearing of others burden's.

Galatians 3:1-5, 6-9, 10-14 “O foolish Galatians (we can place any denominational or sects name here and do no harm), who has bewitched you, that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ has been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received you the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are you now made perfect by the flesh? Have you suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. He therefore that ministers to you the Spirit, and works miracles among you, does he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know you therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before this Gospel to Abraham, saying, In you shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law (remember the parable of the fig-tree and the external good of natural man) is not of faith: but, The man that does them shall live in them. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree* might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit** through faith.”
* (Deut. 21:23, Jos. 10:26-27: That the blessing of Abraham (Gal. 3:6-9, 29, Gen. 12:2-3, Is. 41:8, 51:2-3, Rom. 4:3-17)
** (Gal. 4:6, Is. 32:15, 59:19-21, Jer. 31:33, 32:40, Eze. 11:19, 36:26-27, 39:29, Joel 2:28-29, Zec 12:10, Lk 11:13, 24:49, John 7:39)
