The LORD our Passover

Continuing the indexing for May 8th

1John 2:7-11 (8-10) “I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you have heard from the beginning. Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true In Him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shines. He that said he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and knows not where he goes, because that darkness has blinded his eyes.”

Then lastly we have this; By this shall all know that you are My disciples, if you have love one to another.” (John 15:13, 17:21, 1John 4:7-11, 20-21)

John 15:12-14 “This is My commandment, That you love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends, if you do whatever I command you.”

I will pick up the flow at verse 17 which reads; John 17:17-19, 20-24 “Sanctify them through Your truth: Your word is truth. As You have sent Me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also might be sanctified through the Truth.

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe Me through their word; That they all may be one; as You, Father, art in Me, and I in You, that they also may be One in us: that the world may believe that You have sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them; that they may be One, even as We are One: I in them, and You in Me, that they may be made perfect in One; and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them, as You have loved Me. Father, I will that they also, whom You hast given Me, be with Me where I am; that they may behold My glory, which You have given Me: for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.”

Then in 1John 4:7-14, 15-21 we find this; “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God. He that loves not knows not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might Live through Him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loves us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation (to mollify, make less intense, sooth the temper, to placate, win back, to acquire a auspicious outcome) for our sins. Beloved, if God so loves us, we ought also to love one another. No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and His love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell In Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior (Salvation) of the world.

Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God Whom he has not seen? And this commandment have we from Him, That he who loves God loves his brother also.”
God's charity and goodness in Truth resides within him, is the meaning of the parable of the fig-tree.
