*There
maybe two schools of thought on the falling away, the first is that
when one enters into Redemption they in essense come out of the world
and enter the kingdom of God and heaven. The second is when we have
indeed received the Redemption with the accompaning Holy Spirit, the
Spirit of Truth or the ontological essense of Christ within us. We
begin our working out of His Salvation or as also called, His saving
Grace by receptivity of His activities within our soul. This Grace is
also accompanied by His Truth as they are both in Christ (John 1:14,
17) and through which we acquire His resurrection Life. This is
Eternal Life the very power of Truth which raised Him and will also raise us.
Why or How? Because we trust His Faith in God's Faithfulness.
**There are many learned men who have voiced all sorts of ideologies including their opinions on just who or what it is that Paul is making reference to by this phrase, “he who now lets will let, until he be taken out of the way.” Based on the subject of the text and what Paul states elsewhere in his Epistels leads me to say this, the “he” who lets and will let is the mystical Body/Church of Christ Jesus in the singular masculine form. Why do I think this? Because we know that it is not the Holy Spirit because He will be still very active among the peoples left behind during this period of massive tribulation and wrath, which will spread around the world. But the Body/Church/Family of Christ is not slatted for this period because each person within this Body has already been judged, and judge themselves daily in the mortifying of the flesh and its voice of deception in vain imaginations, which fosters mans lusts. For which the LORD is our Mediator as we do what Romans 12:1-3 states. In the offering of our body as a living sacrifice holy onto God as our reasonable service. Through which we are no longer conformed to the world but rather acquire the mind of our LORD to know and understand the things of God, or to know more fully the secret things of Him. This is rather about the apostate chruch of this worlds order, with its system of corruption, distorted and twisted doctrines, which will lead to the general apostasy, already in existence. And it is a mystery; it is as yet hidden; it dare not show itself, because of that which hinders or withholds is still present and active. This as I have said is the meaning of our word Religion as the heel of Genesis 3:15. Where heel means lier, to lie in wait as a snare which restrains or hinders from forward progress or to ambush. It is from this that we acquire the French word “religare” or religion from. The very traditions that ambush and hinder God's advancement.
“We are bound to give thanks always to God for you, beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to Salvation through sanctification of the (human soul / spirit through the) Spirit and belief of the truth (this word should also be capitized, Truth, because it is also Christ): Whereto He called you by (through) our gospel, to the obtaining (we are to be apprehended of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, stand fast, and hold the traditions* (these are the revelations of Christ known as mysteries and secrets hid by God about His Son and now made known through Paul, which greatly limits this words application) which you have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, Who has loved us, and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through Grace, comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.”
*(a) The
“traditions” are not only those of Israel's own ecomony or despensational
period. That keep us form the benefit and fullness of the new venue
constituted through the LORD Jesus, our Christ. These traditions also
have limited our being now imitiators or followers of God and Christ.
And also Paul through this Gospel message as our example worthy of
our imitating of him, as he also did the LORD, Christ Jesus. These
standards of mans religion are based on his own traditions, and are the lier
or heel restrained.
