Ephesians Lesson 11 of 39 part 6

I ended with this statement: People just don't tie these things together in the fashion that the Holy Spirit reveals them. So our question is, “What spirit are they of?” For Jesus said as recorded by John in chapter 17 verse 21: "That they all may be one; as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us: that the world may believe that You have sent Me." This is an amazing statement and if possible then why oh way is it not so? The simple truth is this, it is for those who have truly I mean truly have of His Spirit. They are one Spirit with Him, not necessarily in mindset but in Spirit they are. We like a child grow into this at different speeds and at differing levels but none the less we're of the same Spirit. That is why when we're out in public and encounter one another we're are on equal or level ground with each other and begin to converse as if we've known each other for years. Now the Apostle Paul says this in second Thessalonians chapter 2 verses 12-14: "That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation (this is our having chosen Him above all others as elsewhere stated) through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the Truth: Whereunto he called you by our (the, this) gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ." So here we find that those who willfully refuse this Gospel are among the damned of God and why is this so? Because they have not the Love of God in operation within them in Faiths receptivity of Grace with Hope and Joy. The same Hope and Joy which Enoch, Noah, Shem, Eber, Abram/ Abraham, Isaac and a host (not all were Prophets or of Israel some were gentiles) but few others had from the beginning. This being said we should also look at John 17:21-24, 13:35; Galatians 3:26-28; and 1 John 2:5-6; 3:10-14 and 4:20-21 and contemplate what is herein revealed.

Back to our study.

But listen, we all have to remember that Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God, He was a member in the Godhead, and according to the New Testament He is the Creator of Genesis 1:1, even though it's just referred to as God. So let's just take a brief look at these verses. We hadn't intended to do this either, but being prompted by the Holy Spirit to do so let's turn to John's gospel, chapter 1. And remember this still fits with what we're seeing in Ephesians, that He is above all powers, dominions, and principalities. Why? Because Jesus Christ the Creator and therefore He created them. As creator He could do as He wished while among them without breaking stride and He did as recorded in the synoptic gospels. We've made the statement, that while they were nailing Him to that Roman cross, what was the real situation? "The created beings were doing it to their own Creator!" They were simply reliving that which Adam had done before them. Have you ever thought of it that way? And with one word He could have just zapped all of them, they could have all been wiped off the scene, but why didn't He? Because look at what Philippians says.

Philippians 2:8
"And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

He did this in order to purchase man's redemption and salvation, but He didn't have to do that, because He was the Creator. He could have just whipped everything out and started over by just speaking the Word. Now let's look at some of these references.

John 1:1-3
"In the beginning was the Word,
(that's capitalized) and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (He's one in the same) The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."
Then you come all the way down to verses 14 and 17 and these it explain who the Word was.

John 1:14a
"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,..."

Now that's not so hard to comprehend is it? Who dwelt among the Hebrews? Jesus of Nazareth. And what was the purpose of all of His miracles, signs, and wonders? To prove to Israel that He was the Son of God. Now let's leave John, and let's run quickly over to Ephesians chapter 3:9 where Paul tell us "the purpose of his apostleship." But first for the rest of the story:

John 1:14
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
and then;

John 1:17-18
“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared Him.”

Ephesians 3:9
"And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:"

So the triune God (Elohim) as we saw back in Acts chapter 2, in counsel, predetermined everything that would happen, before anything was ever created. They determined that Jesus the Son would be the one, to call everything into being. And that's why Paul writes, "God created all things, but by Jesus Christ." Now don't let that little two letter word throw you, “by” for it could also be the word through. All right, then the next one is in the Book of Colossians chapter 1. And we don't see how people can argue with the Word. We don't care what their opinion is they simply can't argue with what God has written, and this isn't interpretation. We mean, this is exactly what it says, we're not twisting it, we're just reading it as it sets in the King James version, and we don't think any of the other translations can foul this up. We mean this is pretty obvious.

Colossians 1:14-16
"In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
(now only one person of the Godhead shed His blood, and that was Jesus Christ) Who is the image of the invisible God, (the Godhead which implies the Trinity, the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. And God the Son is) the firstborn of every creature: (because He was God in pre-existence. Now verse 16 is just plain English.) For by him (the Son) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:"
See those are the same words we've looked at in Ephesians. So Jesus the Christ created everything, and that's why God could set Him far above everything, because our Lord created them. Christ is the Creator! He was the Creator! They were created for Him. Remember to that when He made a covenant with a man that He swore by no greater than Himself, which simply means that as Yehovah made the oath or covenant with Christ even though it may have had a mans name on it for title purposes only. For remember He had these things hidden from mans understanding until the time or day of Christ's first coming into the world. Let's see what the next verse says.

Colossians 1:17
"And he is before all things, and by him,
(His power and by Him here means IN HIM as being one) all things consist." (are held together or brings all things together, to teach by combining or comparing, to unite the parts into one whole) Now this is what the Lord's Last Supper reveals and we're to know these things.
