Thessalonians part 8

2Thessalonians 3:1-5, 6-13, 14-15, 16, 17-18 “Finally (or Furthermore), pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is within you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men (it is these men and their figurative types that I will look more closely at, shortly): for all men have not faith. But the LORD is faithful, Who shall establish you, and keep you from evil. We have confidence in the LORD touching you, that you both do and will do the things which we command you. And the LORD direct your hearts into the love of God,* and into the patient waiting for Christ.

We command you, in the name of our LORD Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother that walks disorderly (1) (this is the meaning of 2Corinthians 6:11-7:4), and not after the tradition (a) which he received of us (again this limits our application of this term to those of Israel's and our own church doctrines based on those traditions which brought upon them and us condemnation for their own spiritual idolity and fornation with the spirit of the world, the prince of the power of the air.** Paul and his disciples established a new and living foundation based solely on Christ as a new tradition worthy of all acceptance.). For yourselves know how you ought to follow (imitate) us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labor and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: Not because we have not power (the right to earn our living through the proclaiming of this gospel), but to make ourselves an ensample to you to follow us. For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

But, be not weary in well doing. And (1) if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

Now the LORD of Peace Himself give you peace always by all means. The LORD be within you all.

The salutation of Paul with my own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write. The Grace of our LORD Jesus Christ be within you all. Amen.”

*It was not long after the Lord's own baptism and wilderness experience, that the power of the law of love through faith, in the kingdom of heaven and of God began to be revealed through Jesus. For both are a law unto themselves, in the kingdom.

**From the fall of both woman and then Adam, mankind has been under the spell or dominion of Satan and this does not change until we willfully turn from darkness to Light wholeheartedly. What I mean by that is we cannot do it by mental assent. Which in most cases is where church doctrine is the foundation of a confession of faith and it is what we are agreeing to. Not Jesus' teaching and meaning of revelation upon which He builds His Church to establish His Body or Family through our knowledge of Him, in all good and sound understanding. Religious man therefore remain in darkness, strife and confusion unable to see or hear what the Bible is saying and telling us.
