Thessalonians part 30

In verse 13 of this same chapter 12, God also tells Daniel of his rebirthing through which he will receive his allotted portion at the end of the age (or as the end of days). Jesus marks this periods beginning in His death, resurrection and later ascension as seen in Mark 16:19, Luke 24:50-51 and Acts 1:9. We also see Jesus telling the disciples that no man knows the day or the hour of the end and that this knowledge is reserved to God alone. But Jesus also tells His disciples that the secret things of God are to be known by them (and subsequently all true believers, as Paul and the others are our example of this truth). When He is revealing by way of parables many secret things of the kingdom about to be ignited or inaugurated by Him through His vacarious death which will open wide a new and living venue, this is seen in Matthew 13:35. Because you see Christ is the beginning of all things now being spiritual....whereas with Adam, he being a spiritual man lost this status and indeed ours and became earthy, carnal, worldly and darkeness being separated (disconnected in what is called death) from God.

Back we go to verse 19 of 1John 2 where we find this statement, “They went out from us, but they were not of us;” with this statement comes the next seen, “but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” To this I stated, this is known as backslidding or falling away, here are some of the characteristics spoken of as being causes of this status: absence of a spiritual leader in Exodus 32:1, 8 [1Samuel 15:11], evil associations in 1Kings 11:4, worldly success in 2Chronicles 25:2, 14 [Psalm 78:57, Hosea 6:4, Zephaniah 1:6], shollowness in Luke 8:13, emptiness of life in Luke 11:24-26, lack of spiritual insight in John 6:63-64, 66 [1Timothy 5:15], love of the world in 2Timothy 4:10, as being unfaithful or being a covenant-breaker (Leviticus 26:15, Psalm 55:20) in, Isaiah 24:5 [33:8], Jeremiah 11:10, 22:9 [Ezekiel 17:19], 44:7, Romans 1:31-32 [hebrews 8:9] and by the forsaking of God in 2Chronicles 15:2, Ezra 8:22, Jeremaih 1:16, 2:13, 5:19, 15:6, Ezekiel 6:9, 2Peter 2:15. Then we have the perseverance in this phrase, “for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us:” we find this brought out in the following passages in, Job 17:9, John 15:9 [Acts 13:43, Romans 2:7], Galatians 6:9 [2Timothy 3:14], Hebrews 12:1, 1Peter 1:13, Revelation 3:11. But there is also implied here the forsaking of Christ to which Jesus Himself also addressed in Matthew 19:22 and 26: 56, John 6:66.

In verse 20 we have the Holy Spirit spoken of as being the “unction,” in some translations He is spoken of here as an “anointing.” But it is in the rest of this passage where we find that this is not a smearing with oil, but is rather the revelation of understanding which only the Spirit of Truth imparts. Hear it again, “But you have an unction from the Holy One, and you know all things.” For this is the spring board for what John here after states, because the Holy Spirit here is our teacher. In other areas He is our tutor, instructor, trainer, mentor [He provides aid and comfort], and is the revealer of all TRUTH. As our teacher we find this in scripture spoken of Him in Nehemiah 9:20, Luke 12:12 John 14:26, 1Corinthians 2:13 and to the obedient He is promised to, lead us in the pleasant path in Psalm 23:2, to help in making decisions in Psalm 25:9 [Psalm 32:8], to be our guide forever in Psalm 48:14, be our wise counsel in Psalm 72: 24, to be the still voice in Isaiah 30:31, to guide in adversities in Isaiah 42:16 [Isaiah 48:17], to be our illumination in Luke 1:79 [John 10:4], He is to reveal all Truth in John 16:13 and a whole lot more if we will but trust Him. But we must first of all receive Him, one way this is done is to repent of our sin nature, then second is to simply ask! From these it is but a matter of stepping out in trust, as the people listed in Hebrews 11 did, when we trust in God's way He counts our trust as righteousness and apart from this no one will see the LORD God or even know Him as spoken in Hebrews 12:14 and that which follows through verse 29.
