Thessalonians part 34

The writer of Hebrews in addressing the Hebrew believers who have escaped from their heritage and left it behind them, is actively in the process of warning them not to turn their backs on the LORD by returning to their former life in dead traditions of religious form. Jumping in at Hebrews 10:37, this is from Habakuk 2:3-4, which states this; “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” We find this statement in Hebrews 10:37[36-39], again; “For you have need of patience, that, after you having done the Will of God (in the denying of their formed life style of an outwordly form, to turning to Him), you might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back into perdition; but are of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” (edited somewhat by me) In 1Thessalonians 3 Paul tells of the report he received from Timothy and the joy that overflowed him of the good report and the steadfastness of their resolve to stay with Christ. We covered that early on so will not repeat here, moving on.

Picking up on 1John 5, where John is explaining the over coming of the world by being born of Christ onto God and thereby we have over come this world. And heading toward verses 10-12 in verse 5 we find this; “Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, Jesus Christ (speaking of His being birthed through the office of the virgin birth and the opening of her womb as the first born son of promise, Hidden in Genesis 3:15); not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears witness, because the Spirit is Truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are One (in the Elohim of Genesis 1:1-2 and John 1:1-2). And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood (this being the release from the Lord's opened side at His death on the tree, Jesus being the Will, the Word and the Law): and these three agree in One. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. He that believes the Son of God has the witness in himself: he that believes not God has made Him a liar; because he believes not the record that God gave of His Son. And this is the record, that God has given to us Eternal Life, and this Life is in His Son. He that has the Son has Life; he that has not the Son of God has not life.” Here we have the True vision that we are to tarry for, while we sit under God listening. Here is another witness from Acts 15; Act 15:14-18, where Paul is speakingSimeon (Peter) has declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for His name. And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, 'After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom My name is called,' says the Lord, 'Who does all these things.' Known by God are all His works from the beginning of the world (this is from Amos 9:11-12).”

I have covered the following within the context of our chosen passages; the discription of the lawless, those opposing Christ, the use of lying wonders, the deceiving world, the persecution of believers [Revelation 13:7], Satan inspired, denying Christ's incarnation, one of many, the person and his system, the seeking of man's worship, his coming foretold, in the last of days, the removal of the hinderance, Satan's deception, as counterfeiter and Christ's return, and Satan's destruction. These are the characteristics of those who deny Christ and His activities within those who are inwardly sealed to Him.

Next I'll look at false pastors, teachers, lying words, falsechrists [Jesus warns of their coming, and of their works], false confidence [the characteristic of self-righteousness, sensuality, worldly security], causes of trusting in [the riches of men, oneself, worldly successes, man, ignoring of God's providence], warnings against [in curse upon man for, glory not in man, mans limitation, mans might will fail him, vain boasting of man], the turning of Truth into a lie [manifeast by false: witness, balances, tongues, report, science], false professions: pretending to be, harmless, innocent, divine, sincere, true prophets], destruction of: at Christ's coming, in hells eternal fires....instances of, seen in Babel's men, Sennacherib, Asa, Hezekiah and Peter.
