Here we are at the notes for between the chapters as written by the author of this Study Bible as taking a look at things Scriptural from a Redeemed mind perspective. I will break this into two parts 13-1 and 13-1a. And remember what was shared of Eph. 6:12 of 8-14. Our first area is titled:
Counterfeit Christianity - A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
Counterfeit Christianity is not a specific denomination, of which there are somewhere around 1500 of them the world over; its a veiled perception of mankind's authentic origin redeemed identity and innocence! Under attack just foretold by Jesus and the Paul. See Paul's take here in 2Corinthians 4:3-4, "If our message seems vague to anyone, it is not because we are withholding something from certain people! It is just because some are so stubborn in their efforts to uphold an outdated system that they don't see it. They are all equally found in Christ but they prefer to remain lost in the cul-de-sac language of the Mosaic Law! The survival and self-improvement programs of the [1] religious systems of this world veil the minds of the unbelievers; Exploiting their ignorance about their true origin and their redeemed identity of innocence. The veil of unbelief obstructs a person's view and keeps them from seeing what the light of the gospel so clearly reveals: the [2] glory of GOD is the image and likeness of our Maker redeemed in human form; This is what the gospel of Christ is all about." (The god of this [1, G165 compare G5550] aion, age, refers to the religious systems and governing structures of this world, (G5550) a particular interval or period of time. The unbelief that neutralized Israel in the wilderness is the same lie that we believe about ourselves; "We are grasshoppers, and the "enemy" is a giant beyond any proportion!" (Num. 13:33, Josh. 2:11, Heb. 4:6) "They failed to possess the promise due to unbelief." The blueprint [2, G1391 from the base of G1380] doxa, glory of GOD, is what Adam lost on behalf of humanity. [See Eph. 4:18])
Revelation 13:3, 11-16, "One of its heads appeared to be [1] slain then it was miraculously revived and was restored to health again. The entire human race was mesmerized by this." (Here the "Christian-Religion" is represented by the same multi-headed Beast (this took place during Paul and Peters days under Roman Constantine and the Roman Church's rule and reign.) - mimic's the slain and resurrected Lamb - Only John saw this and uses the word, [1, G4696 translated wounded ] sphatz, which speaks of a brutal slaying. Four times in the book of Revelation he employs this word with direct reference to the slain Lamb of GOD, and once in 1John 3:12 in reference to Cain's [1] killing of his brother Abel. see commentary notes there.
There is no saving power or relevance in a death and resurrection-belief that fails to see humanity's co-inclusion in the same event. In the mind and belief of GOD, an inseparable association exists, where, together with Jesus, humanity died and the same human race was co-revived and co-raised! Hosea 6:2, "after two days He will revive us on the third day he will raise us up!" This happened while we were still dead (asleep) in our sins and trespasses. Eph. 2:5-6.)....Then I saw another wild animal; This one emerged out of the earth - it had two horns and resembled a young lamb; Yet it had a Dragon's voice. (The counterfeit "trinity" emerges - the one mirroring the other - the Dragon Accuser, the seven-headed sea-monster of religion with its leading role player, the head that was slain but became alive again and now the Dragon clothed in lamb's-disguise.) Even though it had the appearance of a lamb, it operated under the same authority as the previous beast - under the watchful eye of the Dragon! [Counterfeit-Christianity as a religion is a wolf in sheep's clothing! making it harder to discern.] It's the same old Dragon in a lamb's disguise! It's mission was to engage the [1] earthbound dwellers to worship the counterfeit - the slaughtered animal that was restored to life out of its death. (The historic releveance of the death and resurrection of the Lamb is in the revelation of humanity's co-inclusion - Jesus deid our due death and went into our hell and we were co-quickened in His resurrection and our co-seated position in Him in heavenly places!
Again John employs the word, [1, G2730 from G2596 and G3611] katoikeo which is from (G2596) kata, meaning downward and (G3611) oikeo, to dwell or set up home - thus to be earthbound. Rev. 13:8.
In Matthew 7:15 Jesus is speaking, 'Beware of false Prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but are inwardly ravenous wolves.' In his sight - enopion autou. In the eye of the first beast who gets his authority from the Dragon. Rev. 13:3) Deceiving the earth-dwellers, dazzling them with signs, while operating like a puppet on a string under the watchful eye of the Beast. The instruction was for the earth-dwellers to make an [1] idol-image of the "lamb" who was slain with a [2] knife and then revived again! (The word [1, G1540 from G1503 eikō, meaning to resemble] eikon, means image or likeness - this is the theme of the Bible and redemption; The image and likeness of GOD revealed and redeemed in human form! Idolatry is a projection of an image of one's own making. Idolatry is the crux of religion - it is an expressive business since an idol is like a slot machine at a casino! it remains hungry and it is wired to bite and bankrupt! The word, [2, G3162] machaira, is used for a large knife (a double edged sword), in this case used in killing an animal, typically in the slaughter of animals for sacrifice. Religion has a life of its own - the idea was that since the Dragon has lost its accusation claim against the human race in the heavenlies, [Rev. 12:8-9] it now has to find a pseudo, make-belief future existence in the icons of man's imagination. We hear this and see it every day in our contacts with others who declare they are of faith.) This lamb-like Beast [resembling the typical Christian religion] gave its man-made mirror image breath and a voice to speak and threaten to kill all who would not worship the image. Its mission is to mirror-imprint its character upon everyone's hands and minds in order to manipulate what they think and do. ( The deception of the religious structures of this world which engage humanity with a counterfeit trinity, playing out in counterfeit "worship" based on a counterfeit identity, and an economy, built upon the business of fake, "what's-in-it-for-me-friendship" and adulterous fornication. Religions harlotry intoxicates all the nations, even the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her; And the merchants of the earth become rich from the power of her make-belief luxuries.
Mankind became snared in the perverted harlotry system of religion and by the lamb's doing, is now dramatically redeemed to the bliss of the romance of the ages! It is for this reason that we do and say what we do and say! as we've come out from among them actively back in 2007 when by inspiration we heard again 2Cor. 6:11-7:3 and saw what is was saying to us.)
