Ephesians Lesson 23 of 39 part 6

Ephesians 3:12
"In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith (faithfulness) of him."
We hope we are not doing any injustice when we use the word faithfulness in this verse. Because after all it is Christ’s faithfulness that makes everything that we enjoy possible. When we say faithfulness, we mean that He has never failed. He will never fail! We will never have to wonder, "Did He really do it all? Did He really finish the work of redemption and salvation? We never have to question that as believers!" We know He did and He is faithful, and we can place our confidence our wholehearted trust in His faithfulness. As Jesus as the Son of man (second Adam) trusted His Father and our Father's faithfulness. We have to go into the prayer of the Apostle on behalf of us, as believers. It is one of the 2 or 3 prayers of the Apostle Paul, and some one said that none of his prayers have ever failed to accomplish God's purpose for it.

Ephesians 3:13
"Wherefore* I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory**."
*because of this position we have been placed in, because of the revelation of the mysteries.  **Glory restored by the Spirit of the Godhead within our spirit now conjoined to Him as it was in the beginning as seen and found in Genesis 1 and 2.
We know this Apostle suffered beyond our imagination for the sake of this Gospel going to these Gentiles, not only to them but also his brothers of Israel.

Ephesians 3:14
"For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,"
In other words, here comes a prayer of the Apostle on behalf of us as believers. We do and have used these prayers for our friends and loved ones just as God has instructed Paul to use them.

Ephesians 3:15-16
"Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth* is named, That he (Christ) would grant you, (the believer, insert a name here) according to the riches of his glory**,  to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;"
*it is this family that we are part of not some religious denomination or non-denominational church, sect, cult or country club, but the family that Adam was to have propagated as a spiritual family.  **in other words, everything that is Christ’s in glory, the whole bank of heaven has been made available to us. It is all there and here now for us.
Sometime ago, we looked at the Greek word, "Pneuma Hagion." The Pneuma of course is the spirit, but the Hagion really means "the power from on high." The Pneuma Hagion is precipitated by the indwelling Spirit. When we live from day to day, the Spirit  within us, if we are not drawing on the Pneuma Hagion, we are of the flesh. What do you suppose we pray for every morning before we start the day? The Pneuma Hagion. We do o’t have to pray for the Holy Spirit, because we know we have Him. But oh we pray for the power, Grace from on high, and it behooves everyone of us as we go through life, and face various trials and decisions to pray for giving of the power from on high, the Pneuma Hagion. This is what Paul is speaking of in verse 16.

Ephesians 3:16b
"to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man."
Where is the Spirit? In the inner man. He is there all the time. The Holy Spirit never leaves us, we have Him, because He has us. We can ask for an increase of His power, His Grace. Verse 17 as we continue his prayer.
