Colossians Study Outline

Jesus Christ the Creator God, the Visible Manifeastation of the Invisible Godhead.

Acts 16:14a

"And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us; whose heart the Lord opened,…"
Instead of the Father opening her heart it was the Lord. Who is the LORD? God the Son and the Holy Spirit as the word LORD means. It was Christ the Messiah of Israel. I know from all the rest of Scripture what person of the Godhead actually opened the eyes of Lydia? The Holy Spirit, as He’s the One Who opens our understanding. That is why God places us within the corral under His teaching, training and guidance in the person of the Holy Spirit as our first estate. Its through His tutoring that we learn obedience, sufficiency upon Him and learn also of our own bankruptcy and the utter sinfulness of sin which brings us to the crisis of the cross, again. The instrument of death or separation from one form of life (as one of three characteristics, earthy, worldly or carnal and as put forward elsewhere these could easily be equated to Satan,  the anti-christ and the false prophet because they are a spirit being, a copy of the personage of Elohim) into another from of Life Eternal and full of Glory, His Salvation. From this there is no escape for we all have to face it. And entry into the New Covenant which is Eternal Life through the partaking of the Lord's Supper and passing through its many stages or forever remain outside God's commonwealth of Christ. Let me prove that over in 1Corinthians chapter 2. Don’t let this throw a curve at you because you want to remember that the three persons of the Godhead even though we recognize their separate entities, yet they operate as One in personage. It doesn’t make any difference if it’s the Spirit who opens Lydia’s heart or the Lord or the Father, it’s still the same God-Elohim. Here in 1Corinthians chapter 2 it’s definitely the Holy Spirit.

1Corinthians 2:13-14a
"Which things also (Paul says) we speak, (all of these things he’s been writing about) not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: …."
Does that leave God the Father and God the Son out of the picture? Of course not! They’re all involved constantly in the working of any one of the three. And so always be careful that you don’t just say, "Well, now I can’t figure out who is doing it. Is it the Father, or the Son, or the Holy Spirit?" Or even be guilty of asking and thinking that Elohim is not made up of three distint persons as I have heard any question.  Not realizing that by doing so is playing the part of anti-christ. It is all three who indwells us through the power of Their resurrection within our soul when it is turned over to Them.

Lets look at the last potion of verse 14: “for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
This tells us what I have already stated, we must become a re-generated or re-genesised person to receive the revelation or enlightenment from God through which we are equipped to discern the difference between spiritual and non-spiritual or heavenly understanding in the wisdom of God. Which wisdom verse 7 of 1Corinthians 2 tells us was first hide by God and then releasted also by God and in this dispensation is the LORD Christ Jesus. Why is this so? Because this is the dispensation of Messiah-Christ's revealing.

Colossians 2:9
"For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."
Here we have it. Christ is God the Father, God the Son and God the Spirit. But yet they function in their individual roles. Remember Isaiah chapter 9 verse 6? It is Their being restored to us that sets us apart from the world and its order of evil, hostility and animosity toward the Godhead.

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
These are all titles for Him which He has revealed of Himself throughout the scriptures. He reveals His many attributes in different places at different times depending on the need at the time. This is what Paul later refers to when he states that God will supply all of our need accord to His glory and richness in / through Christ Jesus, Christ Jesus being both the source and resource / supply of that need, as seen in Philippians 4:19 and 2Corinthians 9:8-11. Many of you may recongnize these passages and how they have been misused by unlearned men.

Colossians 2:10

"And ye (believers. Remember, Paul never talks to the unbelieving world. He always talks to the believer) are complete in him, (the Godhead epitomized by Christ) which is the head of all principality and power:"
What does that involve? Everything!! Whether it’s the Satanic powers or the angelic powers or earthly powers, kingdoms, all of these are in effect demonically ruled by the old man in the Adam-Satan natured men, He is in control as an overseer of everything. There’s never been an emperor that assumed a throne without the sovereign God in control. He doesn’t use a puppet string, but nevertheless, in His sovereignty nothing happens without His foreknowledge. Again, let me show you from the Scripture what I'm talking about. I hate to have people think, "Well where does this guy get this stuff." Because I imagine I'm accused that more than once. Come back to Romans chapter 13 and let’s start at verse 1. And remember why we're coming back here. Christ is the head of all principality and power. Not just in the realm of the spiritual re-birthing, a re-genesis of mankind but in everything. He is the All in all.
