The saga of "The Secret of GOD", as shown in 1Corinthians 4:6; with a renewed mind and our victory as foretold.

Yah! know, back a little while ago, I was thinking of skipping the Corinthian letters all together. Now I am glad that the LORD changed my thinking on this matter. Okay, we are at verse 6, of the "Servants of Christ" study.

1Corinthians 4:6-7 "And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?" (KJV)

1Corinthians 4:6-7 "I have applied all these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another. For who sees anything different in you? What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it?" (ESV)

1Corinthians 4:6-7 "I have deliberately applied this to myself and Apollos to show you the futility of hero-worshipping; to put us in a contest would be completely out of the context of what I have written to you. (Both Apollos and I are on the same assignment: we are here for Y-O-U, to influence your faith to discover yourself in Christ and Christ in you. Every individual is equally gifted in him. [Look at 1Corinthians 3:5] Therefore no one has any reason to boast in themselves, as if they gained anything that does not already belong to them! For all things you wish to gain already belong to you! [Look at 1Corinthians 3:21 as well.]) How can there possibly be any grounds left for disputing or discrimination if there is nothing in us that we did not freely receive? Now if who you are and what you have is a gift and not a reward for good behavior, then boasting makes no sense, as it is taken out of the equation all together." (The Mirror)

May your love of the brothers be increased and may the LORD of you glory show himself to you and within you. Until next time the LORD willing, when we shall pick back up at verse 8.
