The saga of "The Secret of GOD", as shown in 1Corinthians 7:36; with a renewed mind and our victory as foretold.

Here are all most through with chapter 7 of 1Corinthians, what comes next in Paul's discourse of how to live a righteous life, is found in the very next chapter, and this is all repeated in his letters to Timothy, as we shall soon see.

1Corithians 7:36-38 "But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry. Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well. So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better." (KJV)

1Corinthians 7:36-38 If anyone thinks that he is not behaving properly toward his betrothed, if his passions are strong, and it has to be, let him do as he wishes: let them marry—it is no sin. But whoever is firmly established in his heart, being under no necessity but having his desire under control, and has determined this in his heart, to keep her as his betrothed, he will do well. So then he who marries his betrothed does well, and he who refrains from marriage will do even better." (ESV)

1Corinthians 7:36-38 "If a man is engaged to a young girl and feels that he doesn't want to wait until she is older before they marry, let them go ahead and marry, there is nothing wrong with that! Yet if he decides to rather wait, he is free to do as he has determined in his heart. My personal conviction is to remain single, but I am not at all against marriage." (The Mirror)

1Corinthians 7:39-40 "The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God." (KJV)

1Corinthians 7:39-40 "A wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord. Yet in my judgment she is happier if she remains as she is. And I think that I too have the Spirit of God." (ESV)

1Corinthians 7:39-40 "As long as the husband is alive, his wife is bound by law (in Genesis 2:23-24) to remain with him; if he dies, then obviously she is free to marry another as she is led by the LORD. Of course in my opinion she should not marry again." (The Mirror)

(Obviously Paul's advice is typically that of a bachelor who has to feel justified in his decision to remain single! Now my wife and I are now together for fifty years and certainly do not find our commitment to one another a distraction from the LORD at all! On the contrary it is the most recommendable wonderful life!)
