Thessalonians part 46

Next we have the falsechrist that Jesus Himself said would come after Him, this is in Matthew 24 and in Mark 13. What are the characteristics of a falsechrist and how can we recognize them. In Matthew 24 can be found, what can be labled the teaching on the sign's of Christ's return. Beginning at verse 1 through 28 the first thing found is His teaching on the destruction of the temple at the time of the last days, this venue was fastly approaching but few knew of it. I will use this break down for Matthew 24: 1-2, 3, 4-8, 9-14, 15-28; “Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and His disciples came to Him to show Him the splender of the buildings of the temple. Jesus said to them, See you not all these things? verily I say to you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

As He sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the world?

Jesus answered them, Take heed that no man deceive (to mislead) you. For many shall come in My name, saying, I am Christ (the Messiah); and shall deceive many. You shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and you shall be hated of all nations for My name's sake. Then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved. This Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations (even during the time of the 144,000 scealed Henrews who will evangelize both Israel and then the nations, look at Revelation 7); and then shall the end come.

When you therefore shall see the (the perilous times) abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet (in Dan. 9:23, 27, 11:31, 12:11), standing in the holy place, (whoever reads, let him understand: [the LORD repeats this in Revelation 1:3]) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except these days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake these days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say to you, Behold, He is in the desert; go not forth: behold, in the secret chambers; believe not. For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even to the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wherever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.”

With this comes our next topic Jesus' warning of these things we just saw in Matthew repeated by Mark in chapter 13.
