Thessalonians part 58

Remember back in the Old Testament record of Jaboc and his working as a sheep herder for his father in law? He used sticks to change the appearance of the lambs born from which he built is own herds. This is seen in Genesis 30-32, well it was the hand of GOD that did this. Just as it is the Hand of GOD that does the circumcision of the heart as a wethering, after our submission to His sanctification through our willful act of exceptance of HIS promise to the seed of man. As reflected in John 12:24.

Back to our outline and the false professions that are said to be divine or have an appearance of being such, looking at Acts 12:21-23 beginning at verse 20 through the end of verse 24 where we find this statement after Herod saught for Peter but he was not to be found in the prison: “Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king's chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king's country. And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration to them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost. But the word of God grew and multiplied.”

This may not satify my desired end so I'll show another case from the Old Testament scriptures, this is dealing with king named Uzziah and his sin of pride because he usurped priestly functions having a false profession made within himself and was therefore stricken with leprosy looking at 2Chronacles 26:16-23 where we find this acount given of him: “But when Uzziah was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense. And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men: And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said to him, It appertains not to you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for you have trespassed; neither shall it be for your honor from the LORD God. Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar. And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yes, himself hasened also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him. And Uzziah the king was a leper to the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.

Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, wrote. So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He was a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.”

Even when we make a sincere confession GOD knows a true heart from a false one, we will look at Matthew 26 where we find Judas' betrayal through his use of treachery, next.
