The LORD our Passover

Continuing with the indexing of May 12

From here we will move to Colossians 2 and beginning with verse 6 through to 3:4, keeping this in mind that Colossians is speaking to those who by way of exercise and experience are now on Higher Spiritual ground than those of Romans, 1&2 Corinthians and Galatians; “As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk In Him (as one being married to Him): Rooted and built up In Him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world (these are the roots of mans religion), and not after Christ. For In Him dwelled all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And you are complete In Him, which is the head of all principality and power: In Whom also you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh (the callousness, which surrounds natural mans heart) by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also you are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, Who has raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which were contrary to us, and took it (mans callousness of heart) out of the way, nailing it to His cross; Having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it (When He lead the captivity captive into the heavenliest of Colossians 1:16-20, Ps. 85:10-11, Is. 9:6-7, Eze. 45:17, Dan. 9:24-26, Mic. 5:2, 5, Zec. 9:9-10).

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holiday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the Body is Christ. Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshiping of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly minds (vain imagination), and not holding the to Head, from which all the Body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increases with the increase of God. Wherefore if you be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are you again in subjection to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will (of mans fleshly, natural forms of) worship, and humility, and neglecting of the Body; not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.

If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For you are dead, and your life is hid within Christ in God. When Christ, Who is our Life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with Him in glory.”

Now for our last passage with its references; John 16:28 which reads as follows; “I came from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.”

Here He is stating the change which is to take place within them and our station of life. The secret of our marriage relationship and our acquiring His name as a wife takes on her husbands name. This is more fully realized by our character and mindset being changed to His as revealed in Gen. 2:22-23 and spoken of in Jeremiah 31:(33) 32-34. All of this is in agreement with the revelation of the parable of the fig-tree when it is rightly divided by the Spirit of Truth within us.

Again as a review looking at Genesis 2:21-23 we find this; “The LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her to the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Woman is equated to the voice of mans flesh as used elsewhere in scripture because she is of mans flesh and in Gen. 3 man listened to her and did what God had told him not to do.

Next we have Jeremiah 31 beginning at verse 31 through 34 we find where it says this; “Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which My Covenant they broke, although I was an husband to them, said the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, said the LORD, I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, said the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” How fitting is the term here used, it being LORD as within the context is the meaning of this title revealed it being “husband” also as revealed elsewhere is the term “Isra-El” as being the house of God's own rule from within man through His law. His law being Love, Faith, Will and Word. All of which we receive as Sons through the ontological essence of Christ being restored within God's Salvation in preparation for our being taken as spiritual beings back to Him.
