The LORD our Passover

Continuing with the indexing for May 9th

Beginning at 1John 4:7 we find this, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God. He that loves not knows not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might Live through Him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loves us, and sent His Son for the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loves us, we ought also to love one another. No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and His love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell In Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son the Savior of the world.

Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells In him, and he In God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells In God, and God In him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love. We love him, because He first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God Whom he has not seen? And this commandment have we from Him, That he who loves God love his brother also. Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loves Him that begat them loves him also that is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.”

Then I said to look at chapter chapter 5 and we will begin at verse 5 and continue through to the end of it. Please note John's warnings as they appear throughout his letters, also keep in mind that like Jude, James and even Peter his letters are written to those Hebrew believers who have been scattered because of the trust and faith in the LORD. Scattered and persecuted because they renounced their old life in Judaism after receiving  the LORD, in His ontological essence of Spirit.

Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This is He that came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears witness, because the Spirit is Truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are One. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in One. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. He that believes the Son of God has the witness In himself: he that believes not God has made Him a liar; because he believes not the record that God gave of His Son. And this is the record, that God has given to us Eternal Life, and this Life is In His Son. (as shown in John's synoptic gospel) He that has the Son has Life; he that has not the Son of God has not Life.

These things have I written to you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have Eternal Life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have In Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His Will (Word and law or kingdom rule), He hears us: And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him. If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and He shall give him Life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

We know that whoever is born of God sins not; but he that is begotten of God keeps himself, and that wicked one touches him not. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God is come, and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are In Him that is true, In His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and Eternal Life.

Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.”
